OK, I've wanted nothing else since they came out in 1991. I was in college at the time and they were way beyond my financial means. I was heartbroken in 2005 when they quit making them as I had planned all along to someday, somehow buy a new one. I've been looking on and off for the past several years. The last time I had the money saved up my wife and I decided to build a new house instead. She's now given me the green light to finally buy my dream car. I'm leaning towards either a '94 (seems like best year of the early cars) or a 97-01. I like the simplicity and lighter weight of the earlier cars, but would really like to get into a 3.2 w/6 speed.
Year(s): 94 or 97-01
Price range: ideally $30K or so but could go into the $40's.
Trans: must be manual
Mileage: prefer <75K but higher mileage OK if maintenance/records are current and complete.
Mods: want headers/exhaust. Minor stereo mods OK. Don't want any body kits, etc. Prefer OEM wheels.
Body condition: minor cosmetic dings/scratches or high quality paintwork OK but don't want any history of major damage
Color: prefer red, blue, or yellow but will consider any
I live in the DFW, TX area but willing to travel anywhere in the US for the right car. I'm currently deployed to Afghanistan and won't be back for good until March/April 2012. I know finding the right car can be time consuming so I'm starting the search early. I had one located near home but it got sold before I could make it home to check it out and buy it. So far, I haven't been able to locate another quite like I'm looking for.
