Where did you get the information that the Spoon car is "stripped to the metal"? And, who exactly said that Spoon has Honda's blessing on the project? The Spoon body parts are cheap knock-offs, you cannot compare cars with $15K OEM hoods to ones with copies costing 1/10th as much. Also, the photos of the car in the showroom don't show NSX-R pedals, so it was a regular NSX modifed to look like an NSX-R.

NOT STREET LEGAL. NOT STREET LEGAL. NOT STREET LEGAL... AND NEVER WILL BE!

From Spoon. Seriously for those of you with doubts contact Edmun directly [email protected]

Honda is supplying them NSX-R parts and they have Hondas full blessing on this. They have plenty of the harder to get NSX-R parts already to go. If you want NSX-R seats they have them ready to go. Seriously any questions or concerns just contact them. Edmun is a super cool guy and will take great care you. Only thing is since this is the read deal stuff and not knock offs price parts are high:eek:

I voted no. If it had everything it has now PLUS was FI (preferably turbo), I would be interested. Also it would have to be pretty much an OEM FI meaning I would want to be able to beat on it for bout 100K miles or so. But let's face it. HP in the current cars have come a long ways and for a 120k car, it better have at least 400hp, preferably 500.
Hell, the new V6 Camaro has 304hp LOL

Click on the PDF on post#80 for the entire parts list:biggrin:

Porsche GT3
Mercedes CLK63 Black Edition
Build my NSX (in progress) to be 500whp, with various components to my taste.

But if I had an unlimited budget, why not, it's an amazing car.

well... if you find a nice coupe (in US, it's more common to be a 91-94) for about 25 to $30K, you are left with about 85 to $90K to do the conversion....

i think that those $85K would allow you to:

- get the NSX-R exterior looks from Downforce or Procar (02+ conversion with "R" aftermarket parts)
- get the NSX-R interior looks (OEM cluster, steering wheel, Black roof liners and seats, aftermarket red carpet, silver painted console and door inserts)
- get the OEM engine and tranny, as well as the swaybars, chassi bars. The suspension you could get OEM or another.

i didn't the whole math on this...but thinking out loud, i think it's possible...

After all is said and done...and after $120k..it's still a clone and not the authentic NSX-R from Honda factory..So I'd say "NO"...

Wow...tough crowd! Customs built cars aren't cheap to produce, but I hope the guys at Spoon are reading this post. This is nothing different than paying Year One to reproduce a 60's/70's muscle car.

Hey Major I was wrong they're not stripped to the metal apparently they're starting from the metal

Oh, and there will be NSX-R GT drivers too. Even though this specific model will remain very special, starting next year Spoon will sell you a brand new one that looks and goes just like this for only $150,000. And yes, it will be road-legal and available in left hand drive. Neither will they be mere replicas, but built using a supply of left over NSX-R chassis Honda has squirreled away somewhere in Japan.

0-60 magazine has a full right up on all the info.

No,

For $120 you could buy

1. Modena 90-100k early models are better less missions and computer stuff and once cam variator and updates are sorted out, hella of a car.
2. Lamborghini Diablo SV rear drive 110-120.
3. Porsche 964 RS + F355 95 for $110

for 120K no way.... it's a lot cheaper build one on your own....

I wouldn't necessarily say this is true.

I know I've spent quite a bit of money on my mods and my car and I am not completely happy with my build up. If I could start over and could see into the future, then this would definitely be an option for me. Of course, then I would be spending more money to get Clearcorner led tails, different exhaust, FI, upgraded clutch, different wheels.

On 2nd thought, I'll pass on this. I would still be spending more money on mods.

roflmao!

Dude were you reading my post? I edited just so you can see.

I said there will be be examples of cars like these for that price or near it, but look at the mileage on those cars and the year.

No one wants an 2004 gallardo and look at the miles, those are considered high miles.........most people will want minimum 05 or 06 used.

Modena same thing no one wants to touch a pre 02 model unless they have all the updates done to it.

Now back to your normal programming........

What planet do you live on? I'm not even going to bother with the numerous links to 06 G's with sub 10K miles for sub 120K. 430's in the 120's etc, etc. Just go to Ferrarichat.com and look around the 360-430 section and the Lambo section. No problem picking up many cars in the prices I have given. You should be banned for a few weeks for spreading such idiotic information.
