Will I rub?

I buy the Mich Heat Cycled.
You know how easy it is to do this yourself, right? Just put the tires on the car, drive it on the highway (at normal highway speeds) for at least 20 miles, and then take them off the car for a couple of days, and that's it. The Tire Rack's heat cycle machines give them a "gentle" heat cycle that is similar to this; it is NOT a "racetrack" heat cycle where you get them up to track temperatures.

I hear the follow on to the RA1's R88? are good.
Toyo's new track tire is called the R888. It's been available overseas for a while but it's just recently been introduced in North America.

North America.

Next time. I now have 2 sets of rims. With two sets I can heat cycle at the track:)

Update

I got the wheels and rubber on finally. I rub on tight turns, which I will try to avoid. Im unsure what will happen in compressions on the race track. I look at the front rubber (RA1 235/40/17) and ITS HUGE. It fills the well much more so than Id have thought based upon the mild increase in size from my GSD3 225/40/17.

But they're on, look mean and the shaved RA1s are ready for some action. Im going to go back to my street wheels in a few days.

I told you so ........

Regarding the compression at the track, it depends on your suspension and how much space you have from the tire to the fender. And it will vary from track to track. I have Comptech Pro and Dali track bars; raised the suspension once already by about 0.25" it wasn't enough for Infineon, and barely at THill; need another 0.25" until I transition to slicks.

There's no compression in North America that rivals turn 2 at Mosport, you drop over 50 feet through the turn!

I remember watching ALMS and seeing the sparks come off the cars behind the front wheels where frame and fenders rubbed the ground - AWESOME :)

Not a problem for Dave - he doesn't go that fast! ;)

For once Stu is correct! ALMS P1 cars are slightly faster than I am!

Stu Im thinking more about into 5. Down the hill at 100mph and right into the uphill brake zone.

Ok this is a good news that it only rubs on tight turn, which will hardly never happen on a track. Personnaly I will go with 240/610/17 front and 260/640/17 rear on the track this summer.
