Why Stock Is Best

The force is strong in you... patience son... some day you may get to play with fake boobies and it will all come clear... ;)

mods done in good taste make people go "Holy Sh!t".

Yup! As in "Holy sh!t! How can anyone take a beautiful car and f*ck it up like that?"

I don't know how many modified cars I have seen that make me say to myself "I would rather have that car stock than how it looks".

All of them.

Of course, different strokes for different folks. But IMO, I have yet to see an NSX with significant body modifications that looks as good as the stock one. Especially the stock rear wing, where anything else looks tacked-on and tacky.

Now Ken ,That's not what you told me!Besides maybe on a planet in an alternate universe my car is stock:p

stock nsx's look bland, when mines finished we'll see ;)

any car looks better with tasteful improvements. Unfortunatley a lot of peoples taste is suspect. eye of the beholder and all that jazz.

some are good at fashion styles and look good, some like to stay the same as the rest of the crowd and dont care (and dont get noticed... which they prefer), and some run around in ugg boots, track pants (two sizes too small) and a grotty t-shirt, which none of us really want to see.................mmm car analogy course 101. ;)

i'll always notice a nice (insert topic) that is presented/presents itself/themselves in nice way..............;)

What constitutes cosmetic alteration vs performance? Some are obvious, some are not. Obviously engine mods kept hidden are performance. And custom paint jobs are purely appearance. I agree, I have not seen an aftermarket wing that I think looks good, they don't flow well with the lines on the car making them look like a cheap add-on (even if they are superior in performance from a purely track oriented perspective). But I lowered my NSX with Bilsteins (used the lower perch), and not only do I feel it handles better, but I think it looks better. To me, stock, the gap between the top of the tires and the fender looked too large compared to the gap between the front and rear of the tire to the fender. With the lowering of 0.8 inches, now the tires look like they fit the fender well perfectly. I also feel I get less body roll in turns, but now I have to be even more careful when going over curbs into driveways. I can scrape my front at my house if I don't approach at an angle, and there are some gas stations I use where one entrance is now totally avoided because of it's quick angle change. A small nuisance for what I perceive as improved looks and performance.
