Why I love Southern Cali!

I love it too! Re: Why I love Southern Cali!

I love to visit Southern Cali. I always have a good time there, but the SF Bay Area works for me as far as home goes. When I win the lotto and no longer have to commute, I'll move to SoCal (though the beaches and weather almost make it worth having to sit in traffic).

People tell me "Sell your house, move to Texas, move to wherever and buy a bigger house with more land". I think about it and then realize that I'd have to live in "name your state other than CA"

People actually live in cities that aren't near a beach? Really?

I grew up in SoCal just walking distance from the Pacific Ocean...the concept of living more than five minutes from the ocean is just too hard to comprehend.

Of course, ask me how I feel after I start commuting between PV and Santa Monica...I haven't moved out of the Marina just yet.

I agree..after experiencing living in the beach..i wouldnt want to consider living any where else...

Anyways...I had nothing planned for the weekend so the wife and I made a 100 miles trip up the mountains just for fun...It was an adventure going up Big Bear Lake at the middle of the night in a Snowstorm.. ...

Ah yes...another reason to love SoCal...just a two hour drive from snow (five-to-six from Mammoth). In fact, I'm on my fourth season pass at Mammoth...and Mammoth just got nearly 2 feet of freshies!

Nice pics. Looks like the snow level made it down to 2500 feet. I hope to see you at the Torrance thing in April...take care.

I've already studied my commute from my new home...it's only 22.9 miles from work, but I estimate the average commute time will be 1 hour during the morning (I have to be in the office by 10:30am). Since I typically leave the office late, it could take as little as 32 minutes to get home. I'll likely be driving the coast to avoid the stress of the 405 parking lot.
