It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.

IMO it's this subdued characteristic of the Nsx that has allowed it to aesthetically withstand the test of time,as opposed to other supercar designers who have used the "shock and awe" design approach only to spark interest for that particular time frame. The Nsx design is millennium-proof, where as cars such as the miura, countach and the like have become emblems of the past. It's jet-fighter design still contends with the best of them today, that cannot be said about some of these other cars, despite of their historical impact on the automotive world.
That said, the miura is stunning In it's own regard, much like the 280z. Just not 2013 stunning

I really have to wholeheartedly disagree with most of this. The NSX design works because it is subdued yes, but it is still not beautiful. It is even awkward in some angles. And dare I say it, maybe a bit plain in some places. Many owners try hard to "update" it, some to make it look better.
And when you stack it up against something like the Miura, it really doesn't compare. If the Miura shape was built today, you can just tell every dealer would be sold out. That Alpha and Lancia too. Those bodies are timeless and really can't be replicated, though car makers try all the time. Even the F355 is arguably a better looking car than the NSX.
You might ask, well why aren't they just putting modern hardware in these classic bodies if they are so great. Well, some people are, if you dig and research a bit. But really, beautiful car bodies have given way to aerodynamics, safety standards and practicality of material. Kind of a shame really. Just take a look at the Zonda then the Huayra.
The 458 Speciale might be one of those classics. The Aventador too.
I have to admit I also suffer a little "post owning NSX I don't like your car as much anymore" syndrome.
My love for cars in general has grown considerably since owning a NSX including muscle cars...heck, I'd love to build a GT40 one day.
When the NSX is next to a 458 for example, it really shows the age difference. But I still look at her walking backwards or over my shoulder after parking on a street. To me it has an ageless styling.....not quite classic yet but will stand the test of time.
For me now to really go goo goo gaa gaa over a car (for beauty and/or technology) after owning a NSX, it has to be really special...if I had to pick 5 cars:
1) Ferrari F40
2) Ford GT40
3) Pagani Zonda R
4) Koenigsegg Agera R
5) McLaren P1
OK, have to throw in:
6) McLaren F1
7) "Bad Boys" Porsche 911
8) Lamborghini Countach
No more adding to this list.....I'm now daydreaming.....
Well as in anything else in life to each their own. I suppose beauty really is in the eye of beholder but I forgot to add that I was referring to an Nsx done up right. On that note dare I say that many Nsx owners don't know how to update the look of their cars to suit the times. I do agree that in stock form the car does have a few quirks, but with the right wheels/fitment, sideskirts and drop I think it can hang out to stud with the best of them. I also think it may be a generation gap seeing as some of the older gentlemen are partial to cars that they may have lusted over in their childhood, for me that childhood lust was the 355/Nsx
i do, however also feel the f50/f40 and koennigseg agera are more beautiful than the Nsx, which is to be expected given their price tag.. But I wouldn't say by far.
i know there are some who swear that Porsche makes some of the most timeless designs. To that i say we have to draw the line somewhere...

Here is one list of many

Beauty is truly subjective and is in the eye of the beholders. When I look at some cars in this thread that some people think are beautiful, I have to scratch my head, o.rly?
Yeah, Baby, Yeah!
Dino - so delicate, proportioned just so right, so curvy, so . . . (shudder). There have been only a few cars in my lifetime that I have totally lusted after: 1970 Boss 302, Dino 246GT like this picture, and the NSX.
As far as aesthetics, in order, for me:
1. 1937 Talbot Lago

2. Jag E-Type Mk 1
3. Dino
4. Lambo Miura
5. NSX
Apologies for straying a bit off the original intent of the thread.
Almost any Corvette with chrome bumpers after C1 would make my list of beautiful cars. And while I am at it, the so-called "mid-year" vette ('63-67) and its "Mako Shark" successor ('68-72) weren't too bad, either.
The only thing you have to apologize for, is the lack of pics. :sour:
