Where are all the Production deliveries ??

The real sign to me that inventory is too high will be if they start offering the infamous HFC modified lease program

If they do something like that, and it's quasi-reasonable, I could be in. I am sorry I did not do this in the late 90's. I don't see this happening in the first model year, though.

I think they would move a bunch with a monthly south of 1900/mo.

This was from a recent sales guy when we were cross shopping a competitor. The mileage cap can be increased since what's allotted is silly:

2016 Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2
MSRP: $235,395

***ON APPROVED TIER 1 CREDIT THROUGH LAMBORGHINI FINANCIAL SERVICES***

36 MONTH LEASE/ 2,500 ANNUAL MILES
$30,000 due at signing – Includes 1st payment and DMV fees
$2,399/mo + tax

I think if Acura can get the new NSX lease to under $2k month with minimal out of pocket cash up front this would be a really tempting offer.

P.S. Bruce, do you have any shots of your interior? Seems like your car is EXACTLY the build spec from what we did on the Acura site! Congrats on the car, we do agree the Casino White is the best color for the NSX :)

I believe the $799 lease was 7500 miles per year as well.

A brief note on my nsx vs. Alfa 4c

The Alfa ride is very engaging. feel every road surface, extremely low ride height...amazing car for under 250 hp

The Nsx is also very engaging, more refined (quiet mode) 26 mpg; low ride height but not as low as the Alpha. Only 60 miles so far. The nsx is like new girlfriend you are trying to understand, and develop a relationship.

initial complaints, no lighted vanity mirrors, no power side mirror close, no safety blind spot electronics.

Bottom line. although I thought the Nsx and Alfa were redundant vehicles, they are two different beasts and rides! Do I have the ability and seat time to keep both?

Ahem. She was broken in at the factory. No need for chit chat.

On the vanities, not only do they NOT have lights, but the whole unit has a super cheap feel to it, both mechanically and the covering material.

Bruce: I found this thread, as mentioned on FB. Looking forward to hearing more impressions.

Thanks!

Bruce...this may be a difficult decision for you but it seems you may have to put your make up on before you leave the house ..
I do agree about the power side mirrors...this car is wider than most and this option would come in handy..the car is no "light weight" so a few more lbs for that convenience would make sense..

A couple of updates after going to my local dealer to have my winter wheels and snow tires installed today.

They sold their second one, a black on orchid (serial # 470) to a guy from NY. The guy flew in to see it and will take delivery after he gets home from the Maldives.

They recently received their third one, a blue on black (serial # 517) and that is in the show room.

They are not concerned with being able to sell theurNSX allocation. The real problem is related to quality issues with the new vehicles (ex. Shocks failing at 2000 miles) and lack of real upmarket vehicles (Acura will try to position the TLX as sportier by adding a turbo version)

The dealership owners are more focused on adding other high line brands such as MB and BMW.

Sales as with any high end exotic has a lot to do with demographics and where the dealer is located. There are many cars listed on AutoTrader and seems there is quite a few in the FL region. Not sure why....but as expected the dealers who have the cars that are selling at MSRP will sell them faster than the ones trying to strike it rich on one buyer.

Audi R8's have a similar issue with their mag ride suspension. Even if left totally stock, some cars would fail for no reason at 2-5k miles while others would last 20k with no issues. On our first R8, the suspension started leaking at 3500 miles. 2nd R8 same issue didn't happen till about 7k miles and both cars had stock suspension. As long as Acura fixes these issues under warranty and give the customer a red carpet treatment (*hint: watch what Lexus does) then they should be ok.

Sorry, I should have included more detail

i believe the failing shocks were related the the MDX model

good catch on a dealer having a third car as it looks like Acura should still be working to get the second car to each of the 253 dealers in the program

allocations per dealer vary so that 4 number is not correct

I will call the NSX specialists but my running guess is that the dealers has multiple stores and one of the 2 cars I saw today was from another store

Today's update:

2 Cars have been shipped to Japan. Honda ordered very few so their market is hosed for now.

The dealer who had their third car must have had that moved from another of their stores as Acura is still working on getting the second car to each of the 253 dealerships in the program.

A sample of the front bumper skid plate has been requested. More details to come.

They are figuring out logistics for the first person signed up to take the tour. I am going to wait for better weather.

One car was delivered to a dealership with battery pack issues. It was for a dealer principal so no external customer had to wait for the pack to be replaced at the dealership.

One customer decided he didn't like the color he ordered a week before his car was going to be built and they found a similar spec car for the guy and had it shipped to his dealer (the closest thing to a swap so far).

The take rate for the NSX branded stuff is very light (gee, what a surprise).

i think more sales people have bought NSX stuff than customers.

i love my full zip golf jacket. ;)

We have #2 , #3 wont arrive until feb/mar. we're scheduled to receive one each in march/april/may.

Now that sounds about right as my dealer is to receive #2 in Feb.
(I would guess its SN might be 142+253 or about sn 394ish... but haven't they shipped that number so far...)
My dealer was #1 39 of "240" on the list and I received SN 142. My dealer ordered #2 immediately when #1 arrived.
I do not understand how a dealer could expect to receive #3 so soon.
B&B says the total dealers are now 253ish...
I'm a little confused but it really no longer is the issue that it was in August...

It is very good to see that people now get delivery dates from the factory...

If they had a good quality Hat, I'd buy it...

I believe the dealer I went to for service owns 2 Acura stores.

The family name is McGrath, they have split the business across family members and I think one household owns 2 Acura stores and another household owns 1 other Acura store.

One of the three cars probably came from their second store.
