Where are all the Production deliveries ??

Getting closer to 50 available (name your price above msrp!)

Now 46 New and Used 2017 Acura NSX for sale on cars.com

When will it end, and get the cars to us?

#65 blue on fleabay with a non-Acura dealer selling it

I find this quote from the ad a bit ironic: "IMPOSSIBLE TO GET"

It seems to be impossible to get if you actually ordered one and impossible to sell if you are a dealer looking to price gouge on spec.

Chris

i agree that the $1800 delivery pricing is high but at least they are using a covered trailer and a company with specialty car expertise for transit

the dealership experience for the actual hand off seems to vary a lot

my dealer seems to be more like this is the birth of a grand child instead of selling a car

what I was getting at regarding the weekly build volume vs shipping volume relates to who is running the show

acura has completely left this to Pilot

what I believe should be happening is someone at Acura should be looking at what is in the warehouse and having discussions with Pilot to understand what Pilot has planned. The person at Acura could then actively request some expediditing if inventory is sitting too long (because no other cars are going to be delivered nearby)

Makes sense. Any shipping/logistics company is going to focus on efficiency, not speed. Efficiency for them means route optimization and density. Unless Acura requires them to behave differently (which they might not have the contractual right to do), we should expect the current pattern to continue. It is expensive to send out a half-full truck, which is what I thought we were paying for.....

My understanding is that early on, they were shipping 4 cars per truck and they are now doing 6 cars per truck

I spoke with Pilot

they confirmed that my car has been cleared for shipment (they receive the vin # for such cars)

they expect it it will be on a load that leaves the PMC next week

clarification, loads have 5 or 6 cars and the number of cars shipped weekly has been variable

they do not want Acura to get into expediting as that may lead to an epidemic

Bricks, for the love of God, do not ask your dealer to give you a GPS location on the truck when it leaves. You'll be hooked and be asking him to send the location 3 or 4 times a day. Big hit to productivity. ;-)

You are going to love your new NSX. Congrats in advance.

Got a call from my dealer rep yesterday. It was a response to some questions I had emailed. I learned a couple of things. I was told that VIN's are not necessarily being produced sequentially. For example, VIN 160 could be built and delivered prior to 100! I was also told they have no VIN # for mine yet but they we're told my build is ~80 cars away. When I asked if that is 80 VINs away or Chassis/Serial #s , they did not know. Living in N/E , Now I really would just prefer I not get it till early spring. Probably not possible though.

congratulations white is sharp with the black contrasts.

The communications are erratic at best. The build sheet and vin for my car all became available over a 3 day window even though NSX specialist did not see any updates from PMC...and 7 days later the car was delivered..12 days ago the only info available to me was .."it should be soon"...
My car config was locked 3/21 ....
The supercar registration data is driving the priorities/ build plans in my opinion..Many cars locked after mine were shipped earlier to Miami, Los Angeles ..in fact some second wave cars were shipped earlier from what i can see..It is just the way it is and not much anyone can or will do to change the process..The cars are flowing and soon all this nonsense will be forgotten..

When I spoke with the NSX specialist this week, he mentioned that Acura is working on improving how/what ETA information flows to customers

i am sure Acura is taking endless flak for how poorly this is going

sounds great...I have signed up for the track event as well so will definitely have the opp to formulate an informed opinion ..Do you now how many 2017 cars will be in attendance ?

Not sure how many will have their 2017 in time for NSXPO. You were closest to an actual delivery date in time. But we will have Peter Cunningham with us so you will be getting some great advice and feedback.

One of the Chicagoland dealers I tried to get an allocation from in February left me a message today. They were receiving their coverage unit today and that I could come see it in the show room.He added that they also have their first regular allocation available if I preferred to custom order.Another dealer doing a poor job of managing demand. When I went in there I in February, was told I wasn't on their interested customer list even though I have been emailing one of their sales staff. And then I was told if I wanted to be on the list, I would be beyond year one allocations. They talked about being over sticker, so I just moved on. I will try to stop in there during the second half on next week to take a few pics of their car.
