Where are all the Production deliveries ??

It would be insane to process warranty claims for SRS faults if the customer installs aftermarket parts in the SRS system. Their legal department is remiss if a reset of the system at a franchised dealer is not required after the R&R of any part in that system at which point any competent tech would decline to perform the RO.

I would not be worried about the seat belt mechanism. They just change the color. If there were a concern you can purchase the OEM mechanism with belt for around $200 per side. That way you can have the oem and a colored option. I would really like having yellow belts to go with my yellow calipers and yellow pin stripes.
 
The update.

June, sales numbers next week, this covers other stuff.

My car wouldn't start last night, lots of error codes running through the dash and clicking noises. Based on other folks experiences, it must be a toasted 12 V battery.

I charged up my previously unused Li jumper gadget overnight, used it in the morning, and the car fired right up. Still showing errors and would not let me change dynamic modes.

Dealer had a look and confirmed the battery is only showing 9 volts. None in stock, should be here on Monday.

I followed up about the trying to buy an extended warranty. My advisor spoke with the finance guy and learned that my servicing dealership does not sell Acura warrantees, just third party products.

I called the NSX Specialist. He was surprised about the warranty thing and will try to find a dealership who will sell them.

He confirmed that the 12V battery crapping out early has been a common thing. Across all Acuras, batteries are the number 1 warranty repair/replacement.

I asked about the fuel pump recall. The same part is used in 2017 to 2020 cars so the recall being limited to 2018 and 2019 cars may be related to isolated lot issues. He will also follow up on that.

Minor model change stuff is coming, new bumper and lights (maybe the grill to align with the rest of the vehicles).

Smurf blue will be the next exterior color.

Acura had pre-production NSX cars with the lane assist, etc. but it looks like those features got cost cut out of the product.

i asked her if the price goes up based on when I purchase. I am waiting for her response. If in fact the warranty is 5 years and I could wait a bit then that is a pretty good coverage. Bottom line I think this car is not only a keeper but the build quality is very much like the previous generation NSX. I am so glad that I got mine.

Basically priced to push the 5 year, a little over a grand a year is quite friendly pricing.

My servicing dealer doesn't sell any Acura aftermarket warrantees (my sense is my purchasing dealer doesn't either, as the finance guy never followed up).

I will have to find another one to work with.
 
Very sad about the lack of adaptive cruise control.
At first I was disappointed that the NSX did not have the safety items that my Volvo XC90 has, like adaptive cruise, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic warning, etcetera. On the other hand this is a car meant to actively drive. I was worried that the lack of blind spot warning would worry me every time I drove the car. But that is not the case. The mirrors adjust such that I do not experience a blind spot on either side. Or I am too old and senile to see that I have a blind spot? In my 2001 NSX-T I replaced both mirrors with glass that was convex? that helped to eliminate the blind spot. Of course one thing you can do is to accelerate so that you are passing everyone before you change lanes. I really don't miss not having these items. Having the adaptive cruise would probably have required a larger device just above our rear view mirror. So it is nice not having a bunch of stuff packed in there. Price wise I doubt pulling those systems would have saved that much money. They could have always made it an option. $1500 would have been a decent price for all that stuff.

The new exterior color is coming with the subtle bumper change? If its anything like Apex Pearl Blue i might be interested again

Probably closer to Paul Ricard Blue (B82), a JDM NSX color.

I don't know if the bumper change will be subtle or not.

The blue was previously described to me as a surf blue like BMW used to launch a previous generation M3.

The Paul Ricard blue looks great, I don't recall seeing a Gen 1 in that color.
 
Why another blue? There are so many colors they could unveil--is another blue (albeit different, and probably at a much lower price premium) really going to attract that many new buyers?

the trend of colors right now are the Miami blue/Chalk/Nardo Grey etc. Blue is one of the top of being "different" as green/yellow/orange are hard for most to buy

I may be one of the few that didn't like my Nouvelle blue, it's an amazing color but sometimes a little too dark/rich (similar to Monte Carlo Blue) when blues become a little darker they become more of a PITA to look good like black. I was hoping for something lighter brighter like my old LBBP or even something close to a voodoo blue

Good points, yoojeankim. I agree that some people want different, but not TOO different. That being said, I still think they'd move more units if they offered an in-your-face green (for example), or even an andaro black with real depth and sparkle.
 
I just share the info, no idea why they picked another blue other than a guess that with the pushback on Andaro upcharges, the new blue provides a lower cost blue option. For that same reason I would not expect an Andaro black.
 
....which gives me the impression that Acura is coming around to the reality that the NC1 is being shopped by buyers that perceive it as a bargain supercar ..more folks reaching up financially than the typical super wealthy that can easily afford it, but pass it over for the horse or bull or the Mac, and want to make a "statement"...From what I have been told from folks who know chunked up owners with NC! they have it as there everyday driver kind of car...makes sense.
 
I agree - for the majority of buyers/leasees the car isn't precious enough to use as sculpture or be a future collectible like the Euro brands so it gets used as a daily driver. The rest of the people who get one are gearheads who bought it for what it is. Really just about the same scenario as the NA1 when it was new.

I haven't sold any customer orders in Andaro. The only one we sold was a red that was a store ordered car. The price jump from the regular pearl to Andaro is too big.

Lizard green, nardo gray, chalk, all 3 or 4 shades of blue that Porsche has available are nice colors. Nothing fancy, just solid colors.

The NSX, new or old, is definitely a car for nerds. I say that as a huge car nerd...or nerd in general...LOL
 
If the extended warranty starts when you purchase, doesn't it make sense to wait until the end of the factory warranty? I guess an early buyer might be coming up on 4 years?

Mine will be 4 years old in early October.

Targeting to get the extended warranty in place around the end of September.
