What's Your 2nd Gear Top Speed

72-73 sounds about right for me:) my car is a 1998

Speed at redline is shown for each of the most popular gearing setups in the "Gear Ratios" section of the FAQ (under the Technical button).

Given the long gear of the 5sp design, I have got close to 78-80 mph in second.

60 MPH.....5 spd / shorties / 4.55:1

But out of curiosity, why are you concerned what top speed is, in one of the low end gears? Are you also concerned what top speed is, in 1st? :D

I am, because I love to drag-race.

1st Gear Top Speed

I am, because I love to drag-race.

Respectfully, what difference does it make? If 1st gear redline speed is 35 MPH vs 30 MPH, shouldn't drag racers be more interested of redline speed in 3rd or 4th?

Andy,

Because of the similariry in peformances of the stock cars we drag raced againt one another: NSX, M3, Corvette C5..., first gear becomes extremely important, because whoever can hook up first, win. Therefore, fist gear is the key to me, and the longer I can stay in 1st, the better.
