What made you decide on the NSX?

Btw, reason for not getting the NSX is, I don't want to spend $60K on the NSX and still have the itch for the 996 Turbo. Ideally, I'd like to own both :D

I do own both and I highly recommend it.

WHY?!

When I was in middle school, Acura sent a brochure about the NSX to my house. No one ever owned an Acura or went to said dealership so I jacked it. I read it, and fell in love.

When I was a valet in high school, I drove one. We had to take alot of cars to a secured parking garage and then run two blocks back to get the next car. I don't rag out cars especially not the NSX (even though this owner was a cocky bastard) but the NSX seems to mold itself around you. As if it comes alive for the person lucky enough to sit in the drivers seat and take her for a spin. This was my first time in an NSX. I've been in Ferrari, Lambo, and the like....but the NSX felt....um.....right

This is no ordinary car. I wager anyone here will agree:

Drive one and you'll be hooked.

If not...........well...........the NSX must not be made for you:D

shopped for these in order...03 911 turbo, 03 m3, and 99 f355. acura teased with a sweet lease - couldn't resist, went 03 nsx.

I have a blk/blk '91 with updated rims(seven spoke)....I could park it next to a 2001 and most people wouldn't know the difference....They did it right the first time..... and haven't changed, but the headlights, in 12 years!!!

there is alot of cars out there nowadays with more HP and all the bells and whistles for less money, but none of them turn more heads then an NSX....Their beauty is RARE!!!

Exhiliration of driving it!

Deep and unquantifyable satisfaction of driving a masterpiece that integrally suits you perfectly.

even its name and the NSX font letters!

Being so rich to afford every cars I want there would definetely be place for several NSX.

Of course I would also own several Mc Laren F1, Diablo, T-Rex, real Formula 1, Ford GT 40 and GT, ... but the NSXes would be MUSTS because it is a "chef d'oeuvre" in cars history.

Exception made for the Mc Laren F1 there is no car I feel that suits me as well as the NSX. Just after are coming the Lamborghini Diablo and the Campagna T-Rex and Ford GT.

The NSX case for me.

Sometimes you discover a thing that suits you perfectly and you know it, and the more you discover about it the more it becomes obvious that this thing is make for you.

When the NSX made its debut in 1990 I was still a student ( at the university level though ) and I knew that for a long time it would be out of my reach to afford one but as early as 1991 I was looking almost every car ads to stay in touch with the price of second hand NSXes... the fastest way for me to get one.

In 1990 I bought a brand new Civic hatchback Si ( remember, I was still studying! ) and I was saying to the service guys at my Honda dealer that one day I will own an NSX. Everybody was admirative with the huginess of my dreams...

I knew that one day I would be a proud owner of one.

Today I say that one day I will own a Mc Laren F1 or the GT1 NSX :)

Driving an NSX is commiting ourself to excellence and beauty in excellence!

I am very proud of this.

The way it looks, the way it is built, the way it handles, the reliable exotic.......

if there ever was a perfect exotic sports car that satisfied all of the needs of a particular kind of car lover, this is it. Period.

1) NSX owners (the nicest car enthusiasts)
2) Soul (hate it when people say NSX has no soul).

ditto. since i keep the car in montreal where ferraris are in abundance and mine is the only 2003 car here, i get a lot of "is that the new ferrari???" i get sick of explaining that it's not for ppl who don't know and just say "yeah it is..." :D

All the pro stuff has been mentioned... what else I can comment ??? The only negative thing that i would like to add is:

1. more power
2. convertible version.

Best of the Bset

Most of the replies on this post give a good description of the NSX. I do not thing I could add to it. However, I had always believed that Japan made awesome cars and that Honda made the best cars (reliable with un-compromizing quality) in Japan so I bought a Legend in 93. After owning a legend which I thought was a great car, I thought of how I can have the best car from the number one car Company. As someone sums it up on a previous post "Honda makes the best cars and the NSX is the best Honda". In 1998 I thought (and I still believe) that I got the coolest car in the world, the NSX

This is why I bought my NSX

36 posts for a simple question.

They pretty much sumed up most what I'm going to say but I have to add couple more:

1. Do you play GT3? Buy one and drive one, just put one on the track then watched the replay, NSX had my attraction even on video games... Not to mention the way it handles as you pushing it into corners.

2. You go to any forum, there's probably people asking the same question on that specific makes/ models, the opinons will vary. I haven't seen any regretion on buying a nsx yet. That's basically already a reason.

3. You already log in to this forum and believe me, before you know it, all of us will try to get you to buy one. (I wasn't a registered member before, but brousing at this web site was one main reason why I bought mine.)

that said, I would say if exotic sports car is what you wanted, and you have even a hint of cost/benefit concept. You will not be disapointed.

Gran Turismo 3 played a huge role in making me check out the Subaru WRX, which I own now. Its a great car, but sometimes feels like a really souped up econobox. Since I owned a prelude before, it feels like an entirely different baby. That is why I'm exploring the option of a used NSX, which apparently won't cost much more than my WRX did as new.

I saw it and thought that it was beautiful....then I bribed someone so that I could drive one and was head over heels for it....from that day forward I did what I had to do to get one...and eventually two....the car is just perfect to drive and to own. I seriously may get a third in a couple of years.

Good luck adding that one to your collection (as in only 1 made)! I'd like to have it too.

You'll find more of them (also '98) here in Europe - maybe you should import one.

I first spotted a black one (or was it red?) on the 210 Pasadena fwy while making a local delivery in my 24' bobtail back in 1991. Needless to say, it was love at first sight!! :) I couldn't believe my eyes that something as incredibly refined and amazingly beautiful as the NSX actually existed as a ROAD CAR - NOT a purpose-built race car on the IMHSA/WSC circuit. But the real shocker to me was WHY Honda/Acura was capable of creating an exotic car like the NSX? I thought the Japanese can only make decently looking BUT reliable tin boxes on wheels? :p Yeah yeah I fell prey to the popular concensus of the Americans when it comes to the Japanese automaker, since I wasn't part of the car culture and didn't know anything about Honda's immensely successful involvement in Formula 1 at the time....

Regardless of what other poeple think, I had to have it! That is, until I found out that the price of admission was way out of reach for a young entreprenuer freshly out of college trying to make ends meet. So the "dream" had to wait......

Fast forward 10 years, with deeper pockets and a change of leisurely pursuit from pistol shooting competitions to sports cars, My love for the NSX rekindled, although this time around it takes more than just the "wow" factor to get me really excited about spending a good chunk of my paycheck on something I don't really *NEED*. But after watching the BM video debut of the NSX (the one where they show how the car was built-it was sooo cool!), and doing a little research into NSX rivals such as the Z06 and the like, I was 100% convinced that I've fell in love for the NSX 10 years ago for the RIGHT reasons. So on 11/01, I walked into my local Acura dealer, and immediately a '99 Red NSX coupe caught my eyes, and the rest was history! :) What's even sweeter is that when I finally got to drive the Z-50 out of the lot and on my way home, it was MORE than I had hoped for! The car pulled SOO much harder than I thought it would, with just a light, gentle squeeze on the throttle, and handles nothing like I've ever driven. In short - the car was so amazing that words do NO justice- one REALLY has to drive it to truly appreciates its performance capability and the incredible driving experience!

That day was one of the happiest days that I'll never forget in my entire life! :D

Sorry for the long post. I just had to get this off my chest! :o
