What car bothers you most for a race?

I have had no problem with bike(s) on the freeway as long as I kept my gear in 3rd and 4th doing 100-140 mph. Fun, but very insane.

Bikes are tougher on freeways because of drag. A 600cc should be competition for an NSX, especially if you can get a start just below 70mph, allowing a downshift to 2nd for quicker pick up! I raced a 600 out of a toll booth once from a roll at about 30mph and pulled on him in 1st but lost bad once i hit second...like 5-7 cars bad! And thats just 2nd!

A 12.7 is not impressive at all on a bike and a 12.0 is not much either. 12.7 loses to z06's, vipers, modd'ed fbods, mustangs and NSXs and a TON of other cars! Most 600's run mid to low 11's from what i hear...

My buddy has an Kawasaki 1200cc w/ everything Carbon Fiber'd! It FLIES...he was telling me he had it up to 190 (on the odometer...so maybe 170?) out in Texas...He wouldn't lie about that either, so i believe it! Its crazy man! and he does have the governor removed.

As mentioned, MOST people look at the car and appreciate it rather than race it. Teenagers try to race it more than anyone. Bikers ALWAYS give me a HUGE thumbs up and often start to ride around me when im on the highway...it's always fun riding with bikers!

well i'm easily impressed by anything under 13.0 because i haven't beaten my personal best of 13.1 yet :( maybe 2nite, makeup nite for the rainout last night.

Any stupid driver who can't get the signal I am not in the mood to race bothers me.

Two weeks ago, this Eclipse stayed inches behind me, flashed his head light and then cut in front of me, hit the brake while I was having a peaceful cruise with my 5 years old son. If those crazy drivers want to kill themselves, it's their choice. Just don't drag me into it.

Interesting that you guys should mention bikers. A guy from work took a curve too fast this morning and laid down his bike. He's been in surgery several hours now to repair multiple bone fractures...

I have had this happen several times as well. When they do that, I wait about 30 seconds or so, rush by them and go side-by-side... then SHOW THEM I am dialing my cellphone hoping they get scared that I'm calling the cops.

For me, it has to be the guys in the minivans!! I guess being that they are driving the very antithesis of manhood, they feel that they must flex their muscles by racing by me in their Caravans and Voyagers.

The import tuner cars always seem content to stay about 1 carlength back and to the right or left and just stare...........then pass with a big thumbs up or horn honk!

Heh, I see a lot of hotrod minivans out there when I'm in the NSX.

Hey jmjrdh1, I think you are the only other Prime member I've seen with a Mopar listed in their signature! Glad to see it.

Civics, by far the most that want to race, or really more likely they just want to see what my NSX does. After that, a few Vette's, but only on the highway out of traffic, which I usually take the offer. Last week a guy (with girl freind) in a C5 convert asked for it...and he got it. Walked the C5 vert so bad it wasn't even funny. The dude was probably wondering what went wrong with his Vette. :D

My LS1 neighbor continually tells me that "we need to go see what his car can do against mine," but I have yet to give him the pleasure of me leaving him in the dust, and most likely never will. In that situation it is more fun to leave them wondering and wanting to know than proving something.;)

Honestly, if you race a 600 cc (or more) bike, you have no prayer. They can do 0-60 mph under 3.7 sec, and 1/4 miles under 11.5 sec. EASILY. Just look at the insane weight to power ratio. And with modern sticker tires, bike can actually outcorner cars (NSX) too, but it does take a lot of skill..

Nah........bikes are slower than these NSX's

See the brake lights?

I had a Ford lightning towing jet-ski's try to race me last time I drove thru Ft. Lauderdale (did an impressive burn out at a stop light!).

Mostly around here it's pickup trucks being driving by hyper-agressive males (read: redneck driving old ford pickup) or SUV's. If they can't win, or you won't race, or they are just drunk enough they WILL run you off the road (twice for me now in the NSX). I avoid at all costs hyper-agressive drivers in trucks now.

i forgot to add to the list: nearly every ITR's.

First....I have to add to the list:

Mustangs > Oh....how I hate the typical cocky fool driving that mobile fridge on wheels

Ford Lightening> SAA

Any other American muscle car/truck>

As for the import drivers. Usually when they see "me" in the car they give a thumbs up or slow down to match my speed (I tend to cruise when I drive and look like I am gods gift to the road) or (maybe its the kind of music I play.....nothing like playing Nine inch Nails or Tool or Korn to let them know I'm not one to be messed with).

If all else fails I will do what I did when a guy did to me what this person did to cbr600............show them my badge:cool:

That mostly works...but here in crappy thug filled Miami...that doesn't always work...

There are other options for me though:D

I should try that! Or maybe they will see my banks name on my Name Badge and come to my work at beat me up!!!!

Sometimes I wish I was a cop!

I get far more stares and appreciative looks than overt challenges. More than half are trying to figure out what it is.

Mustangs, Camaros and Corvettes like to flex, as do the over-riced Civics and Integras (either that or some flamboyant gesture to show me how cool they think the car is.)

So far it's been a lot of rice, but that's what a giant spoiler will do for you!
I've only had my car for a little while now, and I haven't driven it too often so I haven't had too many challenges.
Since supraforums has been down, many of us supra owners have been in exile browsing other forums.:)
So far, I'm very impressed with the level of maturity here.....i haven't seen any childish flaming and bench racing yet!

2 posts........two spoiler jokes........damn that thing!

Thanks Autophile

My Dad is 73 years old and lives by the "Mopar or no car" motto. I love my Roadrunner and it is a great compliment to my NSX and Accord. My wife has an 03 BMW 328XI, so we have a nice cross-section of automobilia!

That's only because the bike in front of him is taking his sweet old time to make that turn! :D

Yeah, he's putting his knee down to hold himself up! Make no mistake, the bike was doing everything in his power to get those black cars off his ass. Craig and Marc were pushing that guy so hard, he nearly lost it a couple of times! (an underwear check on his part may have proved this to be partly correct)
