What age did you get your NSX?

Just wondering the ballpark at what age people get their NSX. I just bought mine and I'm 23. Would of been a lot sooner but wanted to financially set myself up some more.

I started my journey when I was 18 with a '92 Sebring Silver. Then went to a '91 Berlina Black. Now I am into my favorite one, my '94 Grand Prix White. I have often said that I cannot remember a time when I did not drive an NSX, as I am in my early 30's now. Life has been kind to me in that respect. :)

29...picked it up last week

25 turning 26 when I bought my '92 GPW (will never sell it)

and if I have my way, I will hopefully own at least one more (maybe an '02+)

52, after a long list of British, German, and Italian sports cars. Not really sure why it took so long, as I drove it in the early 90's and loved it - just fell under the radar screen until I spoke with a friend who had one and then I just started looking. Glad I finally have one - it is actually the best car I've ever owned.

I suspect there are a lot of other "older" owners out there that just haven't replied to this thread. And I am impressed to see so many "youthful" owners and enthusiasts out there. Back in the day I was pressed (financially) to purchase a Fiat 850 Spider, MGB, TR6, Porsche 914, and others - they were nightmares and weak compared to the NSX.

Whatever the age, I know that we all wish we had purchased (and enjoyed) sooner. Happy Motoring, Jay

When I was young, my father bought a new red 93, then traded for a 95-T. Loved the car back then, still love it now. Saved through my 20's for the car and finally made the dream come true at 29 when I bought my red 91, and recently bought my black 2000 at 32.

Nowadays, my father drives a Tahoe and is very jealous of my current NSX! Funny how things come full circle.

Did not want a pre 02 since I saw the 02 in late 02 (pop up lights just didn't cut it for me after that). Couldn't afford it then so stuck with a 99 prelude (insurance laughed at me when getting quotes for an ITR) and bought an 03 350z in 06. Bought my 03 NSX this year in April @ Age 32.

On a side note, cars I couldn't own because insurance agent laughed at me:

93 300ZX TT
ITR
04 Subaru STI

All I wanted to do was have fun!

Dude, this is your first post? To say "hey look at me I am only 23 and have an NSX, would have been sooner even but I wanted to get myself setup first?"

What is the point of this thread?

The point is the OP is a straight baller and is completely set up now. His money is > yours.

12 for the Tamiya model.

27 (2 months ago) for the real deal.

Having a discussion with some of my friends who are half a generation older, it is just the type of cars that came out in the 90s are now affordable in 2010s (one can get a Testarossa for $80k). For owners in their 20s, dream cars when we were kids are now affordable given lack of family financial commitments compared to some owners in their late 30s. My friends are jealous that in their 20s (during the late 90s), the choices of affordable dream cars were limited.

What is the point of this thread?

The point is that since I am able to own an NSX (such a baller car after all !!) at such an early age, so I am better than you

51 when I got mine. Could have paid cash but took a loan out for 5 years that I will payoff well before than. Happen to have just made my last mortgage payment on our townhouse this month .

Lots of trolls lately on prime, that kids with the 04 40 miles still posting strong ... what's up with that? was the NSX featured somewhere we don't know?

I think we should rename all these threads to: "I just bought a used car, where is my cookie?"

I'm 35 now and im trying to find one now. I have a potential one and i will know Saturday if we an make it happen. I'm very surprised at how many very young owners are posting that are able to afford a car like this so young. I saw the comment at Oscar driver that he was hating but i dont get it myself. I have have always had decent jobs and untill now even though i have always wanted one i couldnt afford it. Makes you think some people are living with their parents or have a trust fund. I personally learned young not to live above my means. I have my home paid off and no debt and still fell bad about forking out the money to buy my dream car. I must have done something wrong to wait this long to buy my Nsx. At least my S2000 held me over untill now . LOL

I was 12 had to pay my neighbor to drive me around he was 39. It pissed me off bc he was telling all his friends that it was his. I had to keep up with lil bow wow.

It's all because early model NSX are affordable now. IMO 20-30K isn't alot for an "awesome" car, which I think we all can agree the NSX is awesome :D. Some people in their 20s can afford to purchase car in this range even with a mortgage, school loans, bills, etc. It just depends on your job, work ethic, and your saving strategy.

I bought my 02 last year the day before turning 24. It was between buying the car of my dreams or saving for a house. I knew once I got the house it would be very difficult to save for an NSX. So now that I am finish paying off the car, its time to save for a house. The car has been awesome so far and its all thanks to Oscar_Driver for giving me a ride in his and getting me hooked on the NSX.

It's very cool to hear father and son stories like yours.
I would of be awesome if your dad still has his, you can cruise with him on Sunday morning
