VIR - Full Course - Dec. 11-12

Thanks to all fellow NSXers who participated in this excellent event!
With 6 NSXs present, as usual, Chin Motorsports attracts more NSXs than other track events (not withstanding NSXPO). There were over 80 cars total, ranging from a stock 4 door Corolla (hey, give 'em credit for trying!), to a couple of Ferrari Challenge cars... And, the awesome open track format provided more track time than most drivers could use!

I didn't bring a camera. But this was an excellent event other than the wet track the morning of the first day.

It was great to get a noob NSXer there - sjones. I wish we had all connected sooner at the track, didn't get to spend enough time with you. Mojo did great - solo'd on sunday. Those Potenza S-03's are really sticky, gotta try me a set. And VBNSX is really getting the speed - hanging with the big boys!

For me, my new NSX-R suspension was the big thing. Never felt a car so well dialed in. Took at least 15 seconds off my lap time. Amazing! Timed only 1 lap, it was a 2:21, which is good for me.

Now, what's the next track date I can make it to. Sure wish the wife was into this stuff...

We should have some pix available in a day or so; I'll post here.

Jeff, 2.21 on VIR full is awesome in a street NSX! I've managed to get a 2.18+ in the past with my Tein RAs and 350 BBSC HP. Rob gets under 2.10 in the full-race DAL NSX. Glad you could be a part of the event! Next event, you wonder? If you can't make Sebring in Jan, how about Roebling Road, Jan 29/30? You have instructor status, of course.

Thanks Jeff for the compliment.... it was a lot of fun finally getting to meet you 'on' the track...

It was fun being one of the last few cars PERIOD for the whole event.. event structure was awesome considering the only thing that made you come in was yourself.... very relaxed and very constructive.

Thanks Mark for letting me attend on such a short notice... I hope to do it again sometime... I have a ton of pictures that I'm sure i'll put up here fairly soon.

Till next time,
x

Here are a few pictures I took:

The very first day morning was rather damp.... but after that.. everything was awesome..

enjoy.

BTW, I think I met you at a gas station there on rt. 58, about 6 months ago. You stopped and said howdy when you saw my red/black NSX. You live there and have an automatic, right?

Jeff

Yep - sorry I missed the event! So far I've only done the little pace car laps for charity and I forgot those this year as well :(

Hopefully I can work in something next year.

How often do you track your car? I go to Danville all the time..

So far, no HPDE. I started with getting the car in shape and then trying to decide how dismaying no insurance is at HPDE.

Maybe I can do more next year.
