Congratulations, I can feel your excitement. Any more pics by any chance?

Your next stage of mods looks awesome. Gruppe M is the best SC kit available for NSX, more power down low and more up top. Big thumbs up for adding the "GO' after you done the "SHOW"

I am almost done with my conversion, everything is already painted just have to bolt on everything and work on the headlights and final details.

----------------------------------Off Topic-------------------------------

Is the RSX big red H emblem same as the NSX-R big red emblem? they appears to be same size and shape, but different part#.
I originally didn't want to do the conversion, but now that it is done I love it !!
The hardest part for me was pulling the original front off(I liked it too) and then re-painting of the car because they couldn't butt match the colour.
Yeah I am happy I chose the Gruppe M as well.It was a toss-up of the Gruppe M ,comptech or the turbo by 01blacks4 was working on.However due to tuning issues here on the west coast of Canada I chose a reliable and different method, which was the Gruppe M.Maybe not the most appealing but defiantely different. And thanks for the compliment,it is appreciated !

Nice looking car Stacy :)

I'm curious as to why you think Gruppe M SC is more reliable?

Henry.

The Gruppe-M S/C would be part of the show too due to its size. I love it among other S/C (lookwise). As the saying goes if you got it flaunt it.

It's not that I think it's more reliable.I just find the Gruppe M to be more of a talk piece. When you walk by a car with a comptech it takes someone who knows what a supercharger is to take note. Now however when you walk by a Gruppe M,you pretty much can get everyone looking at the monstrosity and ask "What Is that ???"if they haven't figured it out.As Jin1976 said "As the saying goes if you got it flaunt it."
I didn't exact build my car for the track, but rather for a the street. As you can tell by the wheels, that they are 19's and 20's,so I am just going for the "WOW" effect while doing the speed limit, just something a little different.
As I have said before we all build them in our own unique way,but one thing for sure NSX's will always get attention no matter of the changes/mods an individual has done.
I love them all !!

Anyone have photos of black or carbon Type-R fixed headlights on their 2002+, '02 conversion or Type-R? Also looking for fancy LED's and cleared out amber pics.

Thanks,
Tai

Clearcorner.com offer the LED and clear out lens conversion service, very high quality and high end stuff. Painting the headlights is not an easy task. The headlight might get damaged or doesn't seal right. I would have done it if it were easy.

This NSX below have headlights that are painted black.

Just an final update before the debuting of the finished project

The cost of the front end conversion for me up to now is approaching $9k. I completely stopped counting last week as I was a bit afraid to find out, it start to get a bit depressing. Since we are 99% done at this point, there should not be any more expenses so I did the final calculation.

Parts only:
$1600 oem headlights
$350 HID (thanks to EvoF575gt, otherwise add another $350)
$1662 oem front bumper + bumper foam
$100 02+ oem front lip
$1150 Type R carbon fiber hood (Thanks to Vance, other wise add another $1k)
$1000 downforce type r carbon fiber wing
$300 for seals, caps, bulbs, brackets, etc.
=$6162.00. I have a stack full of receipts for everything, I bet you that I have left out a few things here and there.

Paint and installation: $2500~$3000

Final total= $8662~$9162.

Installation + painting the hood, bumper, mirrors, blending both fenders cost money, quality don't come cheap. I could had saved $1500 using other paint shop for paint and installation, but I know it will not even come close to my standard. Probably end up costing more to have it redone.

Things left to do are oem side skirts $1800, rear valence $650, tailling lights $680, paint $500~$1000, total =$3630 is the absolute minimium possible for the side and rear conversion, no matter how you slice it, unless you use replica parts.

Up to now the total amount of money I have invested into this NSX including the purchase price of $34k before tax 3.5years ago. Total amount up to now for all parts/labor is easily $70k, not to mention amount of time/hardwork/patience invested. Some people tell me I shoud of just bought an 02+. These kind of comments are quite a bit of injustice.

For me it would not work, I absolutely have to have a white Coupe + CTSC. I went extra miles and flew to another state to search for a hardtop Supra as well, so I am not kidding around when I said I had to have a hardtop. Had I found an 97+ white NA2 (which is near impossible), I would still had to buy I/H/E, CTSC, 02 conversion with NA2-R exterior parts and paint the roof, easily end up as $100k project.

Hmmm....$9k. I really want the new front end but at that price i can resist.

That white NSX with the BBS is stunning, maybe the best NSX i've seen!

You can. If you don't have to have best of best of everything, you can use replica items.

Money you can save by using these alternatives:
Downforce 02 front bumper -$300~$500
Reuse your bumper foam -$100
Go front lip less -$100
Seibon carbon fiber oem hood -$650
Stick with oem wing -$1000
DIY conversion -$500~$1000
Maaco paint job -$1500
= -$4750 saved.

So it can be done at around $4300 just for the front end. You do need a lot of small items to make the conversion work, those little things easily $500+, you also need HID, so add another $500. I am kidding about the Macco paint job. The paint and installation is one area where you do not want to go cost saving, unless you have a black car. Set aside $1900~$3000 would be a good idea especially for the hard to match colors.

This is another member's 02 conversion, this is done correctly, no gaps, 10/10 job. If you pay attention to many 02 conversions, there are very very few that actually have everything line up. Some Look good from 50 feet away, but up close, big gap on hood, bumper doesn't line up etc.

For those who are doing the conversion, please please do yourself a favor and don't skip on the small items. Especially the seals, particularly the headlight seals that goes between bumper and front of headlights.

One of the major lesson I learn is that. There is always more items you need. Buying a complete conversion package might be a good idea.
http://www.scienceofspeed.com/produ...NSX/ScienceofSpeed/2002_headlight_conversion/

Just bought another $150 worth of seals today, the front headlight seals is absolute must (item 20 and 23 in pic below). If you don't get that and regret later, you will need to remove front bumper to install these later. The seal are very important items. Without them, it just doesn't look right, unless you don't mind noticeable gaps.

Thanks for posting up the info on the exact stuff you need like the seals... I hadn't heard of this being needed before, but it should make the process seasier with more of this stuff mapped out in this thread.

I cant wait for an update on your car!

front bumper tow hook

60822-SLO-010 -tow hook (same shape as old hook, but bracket on other side)

93406-10025-05 -bolt (two needed, or re-use old)

It looks great!!!!

Now I'm jealous...I might have to sell my left kidney on ebay so I can do a conversion as beautiful as yours. I might sell the right one also so I can supercharge it.

Very good choice, going with as much OEM stuff as possible. Nothing will make the car look cheaper than bad fitment and gaps. It hurts me to see people put all this money and time into mods, and not have it fit properly. It's the small details that make the difference.

Thanks for sharing with us.
