Here's a great photo from an Esquire article, I mean, Popular Mechanics. I'm guessing it may from Honda/Acura press materials at the time? If not, then hats off to the photographer.

I think you just satisfied my curiosity about the source of the image - no way honda/acura would do marketing shots with weights like that....I think.

So much win in this photo!! I could live with this frogeye with ducted hood all day. Beautiful.

The ducted hoods make an already tiny car look more racy & compact and powerful. And the painted side mirrors are sharp - you don't notice them until you notice them, they make such a powerfully subtle effect.

I so want to spray my type-R wheels gunmetal and go with a ducted hood but I refuse to make those types of changes on my OEM-mobile. Just need to buy a 2nd GPW one day.

Older GPW was a one stage paint with no clear coat.
Not sure what year that change was made but yes there is a difference somehere along the years.
