I am amazed and anxious to see this done Dale. You are fabing up a body from scratch with scale models.....
Yeah, the whole project kinda took on a life of its own.....I'm perfecting the final design with a scale model because I don't know shit about cad or solidworks. Now if only I can coerce Jeff into coming out to AZ during our gorgeous October weather (unlike WI)....& helping with the hard part!
Maybe the "primers" can convince him it would bring a whole new level of PR to his company?
Come on Jeff, do you know how awesome this car will be to see? Your not going kinda feels like the bouncer of the strip club not letting us in... Come on now!!!

I know it's your car, but i hope you let us comment on a closer to final design of the body work. It would be a waste to clad all the brilliant engineering and hp in something that looks like sh%t. Just my two cents

I've never seen this car....thanks for the pic....jogged my memory, & sure enough I had saved the only pic I had ever seen of the k1 attack.....but it doesn't look much like the photo you've furnished....
But I don't think ANYONE will be disappointed in my FINAL design.....will incorporate some tried & true elements like this:

The FINAL design WILL be beautiful......many of you know I'm a perfectionist, & not prone to fads. Also, I DO welcome opinions & suggestions (as-in constructive), but I'm also "old-school" enough to know what my eye wants to see......AND, having said that, I also have been around long enough to know that no one person has a lock on ALL of the best ideas!.....maybe a styling cue (or 2) from this?

I was just wondering is that the newest DC 7 speed transaxle you are using.

Nope,......actually a Porsche G50-52 box with all chrome-moly billet forks, & LSD, & Porsche "Works" steel synchros. This generation of transaxle is VERY rare because it has a 9" ring gear, & is generally regarded as the strongest box ever produced by Porsche.....it was OEM on '90-'91 "934's" (twin-turbo 911 racecars). I chose this box after thorough discussions with a half-dozen race transmission manufacturers....seems no one else was capable of RELIABLY handling the torque my race motor produces (about 740 lbs-ft.)
I was hoping to get a few more inquiries before I spilled the beans. I may have taken the very first photos of it in public! I literally was just walking into Concourso Italiano (Monterey Week), when they were just opening the back of the trailer to unload it.
Here's a hint; it's Made in America.....I THINK it's an LS7 or LS9, but they never opened the engine bay (I was squinting through the louvers!). I even got a shot of the interior, but they asked me not to use it, since it wasn't completely finished yet. I will say it was VERY nice build quality for a prototype,....could use some more "gap-work" though!

This is just so awesome on too many levels.......
I like this car, but if it looks like this and has a LS7 in it, is it a NSX?
It would just be a race car with part of a NSX frame.....Just saying not hating.......:smile:
Correctomundo!.....nice detective work!......you've turned up data I hadn't discovered. & I'M the guy who was talking with the Kepler guys! (but they were in a big thrash, so I didn't do the full-on deposition)!

The Japanese crews & drivers all came over to look at my car, which obviously wasn't nearly as radical as some of the other NSX's in attendance (think Chris Wilson).....they were all thumbs up!
Sorry Dale, I don't. I used to work at NPTI so we know our competitors well. Since it went defunct, everyone is busy doing different things in various racing industry and when we run into each other, we talk racing & thats how John's name came up. I don't think they have a wind tunnel so John maybe using the one at AAR.
Made Some Hi-MPH Battery Tray Bolts
FYI; Odessey battery fits just behind "swiss cheese" 1/2" plate, inside a fully-enclosed aluminum can (not pictured). Had to make the stand-off bolts to clear "mini-rack" (pictured in previous posts 135 & 150)....so battery tray can be removed in a hurry (battery drops down from bottom).

Why "in a hurry"? You don't race without it do you?
I intend to do some endurance races, which can be up to 3 hours in length, even the 25 hour race @ Buttonwillow. Batteries sometimes fail during a race, & a well prepared effort ALWAYS has a spare along.......SO in race conditions, it's pretty important that you can switch-out a battery quickly!
My battery location is as low & forward as possible (without aggravating polar-moment considerations)....literally 4.5" to it's base. Of course it has a quick-connect cable assembly, as well as an external "quick-charge" terminal. It is only 17 lbs, yet has 925 cranking amps!......AND it's only a $ 150 part!
FYI, most "racers" also carry a spare alternator as well......unfortunately mine is a McClaren race alternator......they're NOT so inexpensive!
