Tubi Group Buy

Has anyone installed a 1997 yet?
This is the 2nd time and it does not fit
They sent me another exshaust and tis time I drove it to an Acura dealer 1 1/2 hrs away and it has been there for 2 days and they can't make it fit.
They think it is in the extension pipes as before. but anyway they would have to bend it etc... which they do not want to do.
Matt at hooand said they were going to try to do somethig to make it fit and should hear back from him in a couple of days and I will let you know :frown:
They also tried to put it on the stock extensions pipes but no go.

DonD,

I have the original exhaust that you tried and it fits my 94 w/comptech headers and OEM cats perfectly. Perhaps the problem is with the adapter pipes?

It seems that way. I forgot to say mine is a 2000.

Hope they can make it work as I would like the sound after going throgh this.

Wow. That is a serious disappointment. Having heard the old style on MCM's NA1 I was really hoping that I could get the same sound out of my NA2.

Don, I just picked my '97 up from Ramon and the Tubi fits perfect! SoCalX dropped me off, he has has a '97 with the original Tubi and thinks mine fits better then his. We both used the Comptech extention pipes, that may be the difference. Hope it all works out for you

:frown: I give up!

I still can not get it to fit my 2000 nsx after the 4th atempt.

1st time tried it with a tubi and science of speed extension pipes, with no luck.

2nd time with another new tubi exhaust with tubi and comptech extension pipes, with no luck, and at an Acura Dealer an hour and a half away. They had it up on the rack 3 times for the last 2 weeks.

This will be the 2nd time sending back exhaust at $80 a pop shipping, $4oo labor for a total $560 and still no exhaust bolted on. Not counting my time and the 6 mo. wait.

Some things are not met to be

Sorry to hear that Don...

I just installed mine this weekend. Bolted up no problems (I have a 96 though).

I took a baseline dyno run prior to installation. Got 245HP and 190TQ (stock). After a couple thousand miles, I'll re-dyno with the Tubi.

Hmmm... either Im going deaf or my Tubi is not as loud as the first day. I admit I have reved the crap out of it this past thousand miles, but I didnt think I'd get accustomed to it so quickly. The sound is still quite awesome, but more would be nice. Anyone else have the same experience?

mine is perfect sounding. it might be a little quieter after 500 miles. i love it!

Mine got louder after 1000 miles or so, it allso lost some of the gurgle.
It you want it allot louder just add headers, if thats not enough you can take of the cats.

I have CT headers installed... so I guess this is as loud as it gets. I am almost certain it was louder that first weekend.

Something I just noticed.
The new Tubi uses an oval muffler,
where the old style is round.
Looking forward to comparing the sound, new V.S old.

Is it perhaps the angle that the picture was taken or do the tips not line up properly. The driver's side tips look misaligned to me.

now that you mention it my gurgle is going away also!

I think that is common from carbon build up. I have noticed 2 times when my boys have installed after market exhaust on their cars the volume has gone down. More refined and not so tiny souding, but not far off form the orig. sound.

sound is definitely changing with more miles. gurgle is gone. most of the bass is gone. now it sounds like the sound clips!
it sounds like a racing ferrari now. probably a good thing...

Just to let you guys know that things might be changing at Tubi. I ordered my exhaust and got it in 6 weeks. It went on smoothly and it came with adaptor pipes. My car is stock so this might have being a factor. My 3.2 sounds similar to the website but not exactly. Also my tubi is polished all the way. I do not know if it everything went as smooth because I bought it from Scuderia Systems and they do a lot of business with them, but I am happy that I went with a tubi. BTW I ended up paying £ 1500.00 or $ 2700.00 in US dollars. But IMHO it is worth it.

Cheers

I'm sure this muffler is all that, but I just cannot get past quad tips, they look like there's way too many to "fit" through the openings in the rear diffuser area.

It actually fits OK. There's about 10-12mm of clearance all the way around. I think the problem is the exhaust tips in this batch stick out further than in the last batch. This kind of makes it look bigger than it really is. But the tips are bolt on, so you can just take them off and have any muffler shop knock 10-20mm off and reweld it back on. If you screw up, you can just order another set of tips.

Hmmm... mine seems to be getting more and more mellow. It has lost a lot of its fury. Inside the cabin, it doesnt sound like in the sound clips. Perhaps I need to listen to it from the outside at WOT?

no question mine is getting louder. in fact i had a friend tell me to be careful around police 2 days ago. ??? i love the sound. below 3000 RPM it is fairly quiet. it gets very loud up around 6000 RPM. no gurgle at all anymore.
this may be obvious to some of you but it sounds a little like a 4 cylinder 4 stroke honda motorcycle with quad pipes! (remember the 750cc they made in the seventies?).
