Tubi Group Buy

FYI, $1800 + shipping ($55 for me)

I bought the exhaust pictured above. It is sitting with my NSX in TN, but I won't be home for a few weeks to install it (don't ask). If all goes according to plan, I should be able to post fitment results with CT headers and maybe a sound clip sometime around May 10.

OK, So I just got to the car to install the exhaust. Pics are below. I have not had a chance to drive the car or take pics in day light. I know everyone wants sound clips, but I am not too swift with that. I'll give it a try, but until then I would count on it sounding exactly like the other clips. It does to me anyways.

Good news:
They fit fine with comptech headers & cats. They sound great, and appear to be very nicely constructed. The adjustability is easy, with no leaks.

Bad news:
They are not *as* adjustable as I thought by the pics, and the ovals appear a little bigger in round 2. This makes the 'tucked in' look harder. The first 2 attached are of my car with with about a 1 finger gap between the exhaust tips and the valence (top & inside). The last one is one I have doctored of Meeyatch1's car to show where they do and do not adjust. Also, coming from stock this is a little louder than I was expecting.

how loud are they? i live in a quiet neighborhood and i go to work at 0630 in the morning. i figure i can sort of idle out of the neighborhood if they are relatively quiet at low RPM. what do you think???

Hi

I have not been beaten up yet, but I have had comments from neigbours that they can hear me downtown when I am on my way home.

I have to take it a little easy going to and from my home. I do not think that they are very loud and you should not have a problem idling near your home. If you want you can wake the dead though :)

Regards

You should be OK if you take it easy.

From the chart on SoS, I was expecting something close to stock and then getting louder after VTEC. Its definitely more aggressive than that, especially from behind the car. The video clip on Tubi's site gives a pretty accurate representation.

Also, I would count on your tips looking like mine without some valance modification. The tips do get quite warm. I would not put them any closer to the valence than I have already.

is this about correct for the sound?

Yep, that is clip I meant.

Hi

In a couple of days I will have a few soundclips of the Tubi up on my website. Both self recorded and clips I have found on the net.

I thought they had taken my site away from me, but it turns out that it is alive and well and just in the need of a few index.html's to function. I will post here when the site is up again.

Regards

White 94,

Are you saying the new one does not fit the same as the old one?

The old one looks like the tips are bent up more and the pictures you sent look like they stick out straight.

Hi

Personally I prefer that the tips stick up and not straight. I think it looks cooler that way.

You got it. Theoretically you could rotate them up more, but then they would be touching the valence. Not a good idea with them getting that hot.

I'm tired of waiting. I ended up buying a Taitec Lightweight. A similar sound (at least from soundclips) and about 15 pounds lighter.

TUBI CONSPIRACY THEORY !!!

the Italians were waiting for the dollar to rise vs. the euro before they shipped. it seems so obvious in retrospect. with france voting to not approve the constitution the euro will continue to fall.
i see light at the hopefully end of the tunnel.

thankyou.

TUBI OR NOT TUBI. THAT IS THE QUESTION!

Clips don't do exhaust notes justice, but they are as close as you are going to get without being there. Listen to link above and see if you like the sound. I think the exhaust sounds fuller/more low toned in real life than in the clip.

I LOVE this exhaust, but uh... you really have to want this particular exhaust to get it. Presumably since I got the prototype for the new design, and it looks/works/sounds great then TubiStyle Italy will crank out the rest of them in good Italian time. This is a fairly leinent term, to put it mildly.

If you want info on this, ask Matt at Eurotech. His contact info is posted earlier on in the thread. I've spoken to him several times throughout this process and always found him extremely accommodating.

I just drove by a Tubi Style office of some sort a few days back in Holland Michigan. I don't know what it is they do there (i.e. warehouse, paper pushers, etc.) but I think next time I'm in the area I'm gonna stop in and see what they're all about. Maybe they might know something about this exhaust being developed again. I'll post if I find any newsworthy news.

This must be one of the slowest group buy's ever. I never would have guess it would take longer than 9 months to get even an estimate on when the finished product would arrive. This thing better sound so sweet that it brings tears of joy to my eyes when I first fire it up...

 Talked with Matt this morning at Euro Tech and he said they have been shipped from Italy already. They should have them by Wednesday and then ship them right out to you.
I hope this is all worth the wait and $$! When you get your exhaust installed please post your critique of the sound,fit,look,etc... and if it was worth the wait.

No, just follow the thread and send in your deposit. A lot of people have dropped out due to the length of time. They also made some extras.
