Tubi Group Buy

:frown: Bad News, the tubi exhaust did not fit! I sent it back today. They said that they will try to figure out what the problem is and cure it as soon as possible. Don't hold your breath
It was off a full 30 degrees, etc, and I gave them all the data. I don't know what kind of jig they used?
OK i give up! is it still possible to get my deposit back?

Sure, there should not be a problem. They are embarrassed of the situation as it is. I am in no hurry so I'll wait for a while longer to see if they come up with an alternative.

Any news? I still want a Tubi

Since my engine blew up I can't go up there and let them fit it to my car.
So I asked someone else to make the trip for you guy's, he should be out there on friday. Frank told me he would take some pics and take some measurements for Tubi. I will let you know more when I hear back from them.

Oh man, I did not know that more fitting was required.

I CERTAINLY did not mean ask any favors anyone, especially you given your circumstances. Get your baby back on the road before you worry about us! Let me know if there is anything I can do to repay your present and previous generousity and keep us posted on the repairs?

Do not worry...it was just me. ;)

I took my '94 NSX up there and they fit the Tubi exhaust to my car. I watched them mount the exhaust to my NSX and it fit perfectly!! There were NO PROBLEMS at all, and the exhaust sounded sweet too. I took pictures and will get them developed tomorrow. Cool?

Cool!
Wow! Maybe it did not fit my car because it is a 2000 year and it is in the extensions? I personally watched them for over an hour trying to get it to fit and they couldn't do it?

Frank said ALL the exhaust cans are made, they were waiting to hear on the fitment of the pipes before they make them. He e mailed them on friday and told them to go ahead and make the pipes, as it mounted up perfect. (his words) It will be a LEAST another month before he gets them IF they start making them this week.

It seems like there was a little problem getting it OFF!

I just spoke with Matt, and here you had me thinking you drove it home with you! You sly dog.

Edit: It looks like I get to be the guinea pig for ridgid headers. Thanks Brian!

Congards!! Mine dose the SAME

IMO, they've ruined it. This is how the Tubi looked before with the tips higher and nicely tucked into the bumper slots.

I tend to agree with you...
Me too. That really doesn't look anything like the one I have on my car. Aside from having the dual tips, it's nowhere near the same. Glad I bought up one of the early versions from another prime member a while back.

But if the sound is as good or better, then what the hell...

These tips are adjustable, aren't they?

I think the adjustablility is great, and is capable of giving you the original look bboxer refers to, and I also agree this(his) placement of the tips is way better then the pic of the new one, but I am concerned about the down side.

The new design is VERY much like the RM exhaust in that the run from the can to the tips is short. To me, this could end up with heat issues and rear valance meltdown. Again, I have no evidence of this, but I would be careful putting those tips too "tucked" in, until you know the temp of the tips.

The original Tubi's had the outlet of the can centered and there was at least 2' of tubing before the tip, so they were very cool at the tips. Mine could even touch the rear valance with no bad side effects(melting)

If they managed to keep the sound the same(I still love mine) and they do not get too hot, I think this is a real winner:).

My $.02,

Hi

I did not find any pictures of my own of my car with Tubi, but I found a couple that Gheba has taken when he owned the car.

I have a "old" system. And if Meeyatch can adjust them upwards the new one should look good too.

Posting pictures so you can look for yourself how I think they should be placed.

Regards

The pictures are nice but I think we are all waiting for sound clips before purchasing! When can we hear what we are ready to spend $1700 on? Since the design has changed, I'm assuming the sound has changed.
