Top speed

On my full stock red 1991 I reached 275 kmh on the odometer and then I had to slow down. I believe there was still some margin... the fastest I have taken the silver was only 250 kmh and the fastest for the balck (until now) is 230 kmh... I am getting old! :p

Hi

I can confirm that the "silver bullet" can reach more than 250 kmh.

I had 270kmh with 7000rpm when I drove home from Switzerland. I do think that it could do about 285 km/h on the meter on a good day (with little trafic)

If the police caught me in that speed in Norway I would have been given a real good spanking and then straight off to jail for a long time. Plus a fine of many thousands.

Do not be a bad boy Martin! :D

always....uh..I mean never :D

PS! Vacation plans for 2004: Sachsenring to watch Moto GP. A little sidetrip to Nurburgring for a couple of laps (do you think the WW is high enough for the "Karusell?) then to Hockenheim to watch Formula 1..

If you go to Nurburgring, please install a camera car! :D

Hi

I have thought about it. To install a webcamera near the foglight in front. I will think some more about that. Then have my laptop recording. I "talked" with Akira about this and he is concerned that the bumps would be too much for the laptop.

However it is not allowed to use camera on the Ring anymore. They have a ban on that now. But hey...nobody checks the little bullet cam near the foglight :)

I think that a notebook could instead be the solution for the bumps since via sofware a very steady-cam can be implemented (ignore quick vertical movements). I wonder if something exists in that direction but I would be surprised in case it doesn't... ;)

Hi

If you remember I have a Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook S6120. It is very small and compact. I would think that if I "build" a foam suitecase for it that fits on the floor or in the passanger seat it would not be hurt by the bumps. It will have to write to the harddrive and big bumps to the laptop during this time would not be good.

When it comes to the bumps that the camera picks up I am not sure. Maybe this can be compensated for with software. Who knows.
