Had to take a short road trip w/ the wife for family/personal reasons from San Diego to Vegas to Edmonton which is about 1800 miles one way. That is not the reason of this post. Who cares about my trip.....take a plane next time.
After Casinos and all-u-can eat during the day, started leaving Vegas at 9pm but was still 100F ambient, pavement 140-150F+ at least, the heat killed my rears and they were bald with no visible channels upon reaching Salt Lake City but next day temp was much cooler + rain, I arrived Edmonton safely even with flooding going on thru Calgary. It was touchy to drive but I was glad the frt had plenty of channels.
Met up with WarrenW and delivered a few parts I brought for him. He mentioned he knows a friend who might be able to help me out in short notice.
Another friend,NSX-Panda knew of a tire-Ninja where all local track rat go to him for tires. All we need now are tires which Panda found a used pair locally but with a nail in one and worn inner cambers from hella flush. Needless to say, short on selection and press 4 time, the tires need to be mounted in-side-out but at least I will have threads to return to the land of fruits and nuts.
After getting all the ducks inline, its late sunday nite ~10:30pm and tire-Ninja just got home from playing hockey. It turned out, he was someone I met a few years ago in the local NSX club. Within 30 mins, tires were removed, mounted inside-out, balanced, patched from inside and the Ninja wouldn't take my $$$$. It was literally a pit stop for tires watching how fast & precise he moved. We then talked about what a stand up, great guy Jeff Ling was who he had the chance to dealt with but passed away recently and certain vendor who shafted him and one long time Primer back East for defective parts. Many strong words were expressed that most of you are too young to know.
Do you think you know? Negative, its not MJ. MJ and Ninja are good...outside the closet AFAIK. Being a mini-Ninja myself and know who this vendor is, I shall "restore face" for eternal glory for the Ninja Master. Guilty vendor, you are no longer incognito.
Made a home safely after driving all nite in the Redwood forest of Calif. to make up for the boring I-15. Man, there were some big trees.
