Hopefully it's sunny! It's pouring like crazy here. My car ran into some problems. Water got in the intake.. is this potentially damaging/ engine killing?

How much water...?
It would have to be a large volume of water!
I have driven mine in the rain with a Cantrell AIS and have never had even a wet air filter!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZNxdm395YYUS' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/28/28_2_4v.gif' alt='Thunderstorms' border=0></a>
The first indication of water in the intake would be a rich A/F ratio caused by a saturated air filter. If by chance any water got past the air filter then it would still have to be a lot of water to "hydraulic" your pistons. Internal combustion engines are basically high volume air compressors. Air is a compressible gas. Water is still compressible but not to the same ratio as air and would/could cause extensive damage to your pistons, rods, crank if large amounts were introduced to your combustion chambers. It would be a very rare occurence for this to happen under normal driving conditions. You would almost need to submerge the engine for this to occur.

I would be more concerned about the external electronics getting wet and causing a malfunction.

The car was pretty much taking in alot of water. I was stupid enough to drive out the lexus in the rain, and the street was pretty much fllooded when i was leaving. I might have a problem with my injectors too. Sorry guys, but i don't think i can make it anymore. Sorry for the inconvenience :frown: I really want to go! I'll see if i get a ride from a friend or something.

Weather was clear today...lets hope it stays that way. Are we still on for tomorrow (Sunday) morning?

See everyone @ 7 am tomorrow!!!
Breakfest is on Poohbear
remember your club radios if you have one...

I have a crew with me tomorrow and we'll be there by 7:30am. If i am a little late, you can eat my breakfast. That will extend me a few more minutes:D

Sorry I couldn't make it! Post the pics if there are any. Hopefully I can make the next one!

Sorry I couldnt make it either...Partied WAYYYYY too hard...got to bed at 4:30!!!!! I woke up at 7..closed my eyes for a second and it was 10!!! Looks like Calvin was the only one representing RED!!!!! Now I feel bad!!! :(

Well that was not the case for me. I had a good night sleep, it started at 11PM and I open my eyes at 6:45AM.

Next thing I thought about was, S!@$T, I won't make it. (It takes me 70 min just to get to the meeting place) :frown: :frown: :frown:

if you guys have a problem waking up in time, just do what i did. pull an all nighter, dont even bother sleeping or napping, because you'll just end up having to force yourself get up but you keep telling yourself, 1 more minute...
theres plenty of breaks throughout the run. get some caffiene. you'll be fine.

James, you should have met up with us at the bottom of Ortega or the 79 south off ramp in Temecula if you were running late...you missed a pretty fun run. I should have posted my cell# so you could have figured out where we were...

For all the folks who did make it, thanks for making my last one(for a while)fun!!! Great weather helped make up for the bad traffic on the west grade/76. Hope to see you all again when I get another one!!! No longer then 2 years

I did that last time and would never do that again :) It was fine during the mountain drive but then fall asleep on the way home while cruising at 80MPH on the freeway :)

Had a blast guys! Thanks to Mark and the group for making me feel welcome! It was the greatest thing when I did a quick blast to 140+ on the I 15:biggrin: I did feel a little uncomfortable though...Mark's really gonna miss his ride and runs...I do plan on taking him on the next one though!
