The mounts have to be welded on and the cage itself will be bolted on. It is a FIA approved cage.

Can you tell me more about this, I made a post and strangely it went missing. Which door option did you go with? Can you post photos of the install and welding of this. What was the rough cost?

I got all the options, cross bars at the doors. I paid close to EUR 1.000,- for the full cage.

We haven't installed it yet. I hope to have my car back next week. If the engine isn't finished yet, we will test for the cage. I'll keep you updated here ;)

great car... loved seeing it progress

WHAT WHEEL OFFSETS ARE YOU RUNNING? (ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE 9.5 IN THE FRONT?)

im installing a similar widebody with TE37s in the same widths

thanks!!!!

Nathan

No problems yet.

10.5j ET15 rear
9.5j ET 35 front

I will put 265 in the front and 295 in the back. I hope it won't rub ;)

Finished one of the headers. We used graphite heatwrap. It's quite easy to use. You do need gloves or you will have silver hands :D It's also quite thick material, which makes it hard to get through some of the tight spaces.

Unfortunately the engine and chassis (wrap work) has been delayed until next week. On its way from Comptech are a new oil pump, adjustable cam gears and front camber bushings. I also ordered the Super GT style CF Seibon hood, just like this one:

Dimer are those removable head protection on the seat?

It's street legal with that cage? Is it only this seat that has this head protection option? I've never seen a removable piece like that before. That's excellent.

A cage can be welded in here in The Netherlands and still pass MOT, so no problems :)

Here is a picture of the full cage. It took me longer to unpack it than to assemble it!

It is a six point ;) Here is pic from another angle:

For now we will install the cage as is. Maybe in the summer or next winter we will weld everything together to make it stronger. I'm not too worried about my safety, this cage is FIA approved ;)

I was talking about your four point harness.

Yesterday we have picked up the car from CarSkin Pro.

Today we have test fitted the cage into the car. It fits like a glove! Now we have to weld in the plates where we can mount the cage to.

Looking VERY good Dimer.
The addition of the cam gears is a really good idea I think, as is wrapping the headers.

Engine look beautiful, almost a shame to but it out of view inside your car :)

Flat red wrap?

Cage looks great. How thick is your rear lexan partition and how are you isolating the two spaces with the bars running through it?

I would say we have very alike NSX'es. :) I build up 3,5 strocker intercooled CTSC on AEM 2nd series. Would read it more carefully tomorrow, since now have to sleep. Will checkout and comment. @turbo2go, yes is matte red with a gloss black roof.

Both good questions, which I don't have the answer for at the moment :D. I think we will have to use some kind of rubber kit to isolate the bars. Do you have experience with this?

@bbvnsx, yes I have thought about it, but budget was running tight :D I do have the damper shield from SOS. Maybe next season we will do the ATI damper pulley.

@Yankee, wow, awesome! Indeed very similar! How come I have never seen your car :) How much HP do you have with that setup?
