Has anybody installed the large bore throttle body and ECU? I saw the graph of the OEM vs. large bore. Looks like a gain of about 35 hp. Is this accurate? This seems like a pretty big jump without adding other mods, i.e. injectors, I.E.

If I could gain another 35 HP that easily I would order a "Big Bore" throttle body today.:biggrin: Could it be 3.5 HP?
The addition of an AEM to achieve a perfect tune in conjunction with a big bore throttle body might give that kind of HP gain depending on the original tune of the engine; but that is still reaching a bit in my opinion.
This is inconjunction with adding headers, AIS, exhaust and intake. If you look carefully they are saying if you add these on top of these you will get this. Throttle body will not gain you that much added on alone......maybe 1-2hp? The ECU does make a bigger difference though. Unless I misunderstood you guys then I apologize but I think thats what you mean right?

Yeah your are right......you won't see any real benefit unless the motor is built.....usually when you add parts like that.....you will not see a benefit unless other things are added to go with it. Every works inconjuntion with each other. I still need to order mines.

Yes, I have quite recently installed the SOS Big Bore Throttle Body in addition to the Cantrell intake scoop, Taitec headers and last the Taitec GTLW.
Had already installed the Dali chip which is probably very similar to the SOS chip. Total gains for all these modifications was about 26-27 RWHP on my car (and a totally different sound :smile: )
Somewhere down the list on this forum-section is a writeup I did on the install of the BBTB. It's not difficult to do and takes only about an hour or so.
Does it help, well, I believe the car revs up a little quicker. Maybe the BBTB all by itself adds 1-2 HP but I think that would be it. It's just there to make the car rev up a little quicker so maybe you gain a few lbs of torque.
