Nibiru

Every x-thousands of years, a brown drawf named Nibiru that orbits the sun on a wide elipical orbit comes into our solar system. On one pass, it came close to Mars. One of the planetoids that Niburu drags along with it impacted/scraped against/blew up Mars. The fault line/scar on Mars looks like a fishing line was dragged through it. It came in from the bottom right, which corresponds to tales of Nibiru appearing in the southern hemisphere to earth's observers. The result caused four massive volcanos to form/erupt (in the exact spots where you would think they would) and cover the surface with dust. The atmosphere was ripped away, and the water disapeared. It was at this time that Venus appeared for the first time. Venus and Mars, love and war. Perhaps we passed through an area of frozen water in space, and this accounts for the tales of forty days of rain.

Every 100,000 years is an ice age. Due to the fact that the earth dips up and down in a sine wave when it travels around the universe, one in every four pole shifts is appears to be severe, resulting in an ice age.
Ice ages last 80,000 years, or 3 cycles around the galactic equator plus thaw out time. Then 20,000 years of warmth.
Atlantis
Solitary living Dinosaur fossils are found in groups washed up against the west side of cliffs, and fossilzed by lots of mud and pressure. They all died from drowning with their mouths open, and were quickly covered, not from breathing in volcanic spew and being covered in ash. The salt flats are the proof. How deep would the basin have to be if an ocean dried up and left all that salt? That basin has been refilled, again and again, by big pole shifts.
