The Unofficial Thread of Exhaust Sound Clips

from the clips, that tubi one sounds the best, i think. the GT Rom F1 sounds like a suped up supra and the taitec sounds pretty cool with a hint of fart can. tubi is somewhere in between.... more refined than the GT, and less poppy. sounds pretty damn good..... has a hint of ferrari.

but looking on tubi's site, it looks like they don't sell an entire exhaust for the nsx..... is this a custom exhaust made to fit, or do they actually make something for the nsx? and how much $$?

Yeah the Tubi does sound good. I tried doing a websearch and they do make it for the NSX, but I could not find any pricing/vendors.

I'm still trying to figure out what is what on GTrom's website. I can't figure out if F1 and GT-one are the same thing? if F1 is a kind of GT-one? and then there are all the versions... like 1-5... and some look like they have a flap, and some don't... I wish I knew Japanese. Can anyone shed some light? Don't we have any Japanese speaking (reading) NSX owners?

There have been a couple of Group Buys in the Vendor forum if you search through there - there was one quite recently I believe, not sure if it is active? But I think the US vendor is listed at any rate.

Note however that from your other posts I see you have a late model - the Tubi's dual tips will not work with the '02+ rear valance, which means you either have to retrofit the exhaust to single tip (as I did) or replace the valance (less likely to be a desirable solution)

Contact Tony at Naples Motorsports... I believe they have 10 NSX tubis they just got in for a group buy that I was trying to get together in Feb that sizzled out. btw: I found an older tubi that I bought.

Are those really Flowmaster and Magnaflow exhaust systems? Can someone please confirm this.. I've never heard the nsx scream like that before. Most amazing sound i've ever heard from the nsx.

7) Tunnel
Quite frankly, those are the nicest sounding NSX exhaust note I have ever heard.

If I were just listening the sound alone without watching the video or knowing it was NSX, I would of guessed it was a Ferrari. Seriously, try close the eyes and just listen to the sound, it screams Ferrari.

Maybe you should make some more of these exhausts and export it to Japan and America.

Too many downloads...try again later!

Try this: online player ...and I have changed to another video host so try links on my last post again

8 videos including one of my ex-911 with custom exhaust system using similar software.

NSXSupra, headers and exhaust made in a factory that OEMs for after market brands as well as Car manufacturers in Japan and US. They were not keen on marketing the product for NSX as they say the NSX market is too small. However, since I know one of the main shareholders I could get them to produce some if there is decent demand (ie. min. 5)

By the way, 2 years after I posted my design on a Porsche forum, recently after market porsche exhaust manufacturers have started using the same design....but selling at 4X my retail cost (but that's a different market - many porsche people would not buy something if it were cheap and without glitzy ads- go figure)

What is your system?!

Someone please tell me which exhaust it is that I saw once that had a "flap" you could control for noise levels... I can't find it now...

It's one that I designed using various exhaust formulas and software. I spec the pipe sizes (3 different sizes used) and pipe lengths (tuned for street), drew the equal length system on Illustrator (in 2D), took it to an exhaust factory and they created a 3D diagram in autocad, built a jig and made it for me - true equal length headers (accurate to 0.5"), equal length connecting X-pipe to straight through mufflers filled with stainless wool and rock wool. I skipped the cat as I could not find a replacement here nor did I need them. It's a quiet system when driven normally and only screams on WOT. Car is immediately alot perkier with the system compared to stock

No pics at the moment, will shoot some from under the car this weekend if you want, but quite mucky by now I suspect.
Would the US market mostly require cats?

Agree!! i'm very interested to order one too if they exit on the market, or can i find some similar exhaust in Hong Kong?....... haha

OK, here is my contribution with a GM v2 video.

The Porsche was driven by a pro driver going at around 150+MPH and I was going around 125MPH. You can see his downshifting point is a lot later than mine.

My car was a lot louder that day, with a 1" crack on the flex join of the DC header. But you can still hear the exhaust pretty well.

GruppeM Version 2 5MB in size.

Nice way to tune up the exhaust note :)

Frankly, I was embarrassed to be driving it with the exhaust leak amount the CGT, F360, 996TT and Vanquish. The only car that was louder than mine was the Porsche cup car.

I have few other GM exhausts videos that I will try to upload as well. But, from all the video/sound clips that I have seen, I think this one does the exhaust justice. I believe this is Alex V's car, and also the reason I searched and dreamed about the GM.

That is a good find. I wonder what track it was. Judging from the exhaust tips and how low the canisters hang, it looks like a GM V2.

Its about time that we got a Gruppe M clip that does the exhaust justice:biggrin: . Thanks for the contribution guys.
