The last lap of Mother Goose (Guus Toth)

Dear Members,

As some of you know Mother Goose (Guus Toth) suffers from a brain tumor since last year spring. The treatments he got seemed to give him a change of recoverment.

But last weekend everything went wrong. He got an epileptic attack of which he didn't recover from.

It looks like he doesn't last the second half of this week. Our beloved friend and NSX Prime member is in his last lap. A lap he will not finish.

I will keep you all informed.

OMG! :( I had no idea, I hope this is not true! I don't know what to say...Guus has always been nice to me, and his NSX is truly an inspiration. Is there anything we can do? Please keep us posted...

I do not know what to say... I exchanged several emails with him in the past and he has always been very kind. I feel very very sorry! :(

Please keep us informed.

Guus I wish you all the best!

Thanks for letting us know.

I am speechless... I don't know what to say, either. I will pray for him.

:(

This is very saddening. I first met Gus in the Netherlands in 2000 when I was on a biking trip. He graciously hosted me for a few days and brought me to an NSX event at Magny Cours. I drove over 700 miles with him in his Accord R while he drove his beloved NSX.

He returned the visit later in the year and we had a great time in Boston.

My prayers are with him and his family - wishing for the best. Gus is one of the nicest guys I know. Take care, my friend...

Gerard - thanks for letting us know - I've been trying to contact him in the last few weeks when I heard of his condition through Jan Smit.

Best Wishes Guus,

Our Prayers are with you and your family.

Regards,
LarryB

I don't know any particulars, but from my own professional experience he has a tough battle ahead, and my thoughts are with Guus and his family.

This is very sad news. Guus is a great guy. I originally met him back in 1999 during NSXPO and have corresponded a number of times since then. Gerard please keep us updated if you can.

I had a good time with Guus at NSXPO 99. He exemplified what it is to be an auto enthusiast in the heart. I am most glad that he has lived these past years to the fullest since being diagnosed. Our small community's thoughts are with him.

Regards,

Met Guus at NSXPO-99 -- he did a great job sqealing the tires on his rental Miata, keeping up with the "country drives". Great driver, car guy, and from what I've seen/read/heard a good friend to the NSX community.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mother Goose and his family.

Best of wishes!

Guus! Hang in there buddy! Remember that one kid you swapped Accord brochures with? You sent me some brochures on the Euro-R and I sent you some of the US Spec Accord awhile back? That was me.

Never met you in person, but you sound like a great guy. PLEASE get better and hang in there. I've never gotten to know you, but it saddens me to hear this, deeply.

Your in all of our prayers :(

Gerard, if you have occasion, please pass my thoughts and prayers to Guus and his family. I know from the few times I exchanged emails with Guus that he is a good-hearted man who shared our same passion.

My most heartfelt wishes for Guus and family.

Update on Guus

Dear Members,

Guus is doing very bad at this moment. His heartbeat is more than 160 per minute at this moment. Even morfine doesn't help anymore. He now gets a pump with a special medicine to keep him calm. I don't think he will be with us for long.

"Live maybe short, but friendship will last for ever"

When I first met Guus a little over a year ago I had already heard of the battle he was fighting and for a long time it seemed this was one battle he could win.
I feel very sad for him and his family and wish them all the best going through this very difficult time.

Gerard, keep us posted on the developement. Thank you very much for posting here on Prime.

Sorry to hear that!

Mother Goose (Guus) has ended his last race

Dear Fellow Members,

Guus Toth is not with us anymore. He died just 2 1/2 hours ago. His last lap was a heroic one.

I have lost a dear friend. I am proud to have met you.

Guus I love you and we'll meet again.

"Friendship will never die!"

My thoughts are with Guus his family and his best friend Mischa.

Wow! How is his family dealing with his death?

Hi

Sad to hear this...:(

I only know Mother Goose from the postings here on Prime

Told my mum the other day, as one of the reasons to buy a NSX that "Life is too short to drive boring cars."

It puts the quote above in a strange light when I first saw the message about Mother Goose's struggle.

I am sorry that Mother Goose now too early in his life are on his final lap.. :(

My thoughts are with him and his family and friends.

Regards

This is a sad day for me, as well as for many others.

Today, I have lost a good friend.

I wish his family and his friends all the best in their struggle to cope with the passing away of Guus.

I am glad I have had the change to meet Guus in real life and spent some time with him. He was a good friend and we have had good times talking about our shared passion. Those moments are not lost and will be remembered for as long as I live. In that respect, I know Guus will live on in the memories of his family and friends.

Again, I feel sorrow for his family as they will feel the loss most deeply. I wish you all the best in the coming times.

My deepest condolence and thoughts are with him and his family....
