The Devil's Chariot

Yea it just screws out, just use an old piece of hose or something like to protect from marring. The SOS E-brake button looks great with the shift knob

how about now? man this google photos thing is real picky.

The handles look so good. You have reafirmed my desire to eventually get a set for my car.

Door handles look great  and match the shift knob and ebrake button nicely. I’ll have to pick up the SOS ebrake button, I have an OEM metal one that is too hard to screw on.

A picture of my grandpa using my spoiler to roll a smoke, my favorite picture of my car. Sometimes he comes out just to look at it, i really am where i am today because of his efforts. I'd totally let him drive it but hes never driven a car; he comes from a different time, different place. Cherish your elders, one day it all you will have is memories.

That's cool. Surely he enjoys riding in it though?!

MOVING RIGHT ALONG! Im running out of things that need immediate attention or that dont bother me pressingly.

Advan RS center caps started peeling, repainted and cleared by hand in gold. This was quite the time consuming ordeal but it really makes the wheels look great with the contrasting color IMO.

I managed to find a STMPO front chassis bar for pretty cheap just needed to be powdercoated and mended a bit. Redid it in wrinkle black and sold off the NSX-R OEM bar for about the same price. (still on the lookout for a Messiah exhaust)

The engine bay is basically done now, i use to not be one of those "dress up the engine guys" and i still hope im not but just trying to keep it simple, classy and looks like its supposed to be there. I sat down and finally degreased/cleaned the engine bay, everything looks nice and straight no signs of damage i can tell.

-STMPO Rear Targa bar
-SCW Performance "NSX" Logo Throttle body garnish (STMPO Fitment)...im still not sure about the chrome but its growing on me.
-ScienceofSpeed Intake manifold garnish
-ScienceofSpeed Clearance section intake manifold cover (silver)

I was thinking about ordering the SOS NA2 replica wheels but something about putting NA2 parts on a NA1 seems "poser-ish" to me. It was also assumed that probably 50 other people had pre-orders in for a set so i imagine literally everyone will have 02+ wheels. I purposely bought a NA1, i love flip ups. It's kinda like putting a M3 badge on a 328ci or at least in that genre IMO. i still dont understand the why people go to such great lengths to make it look like an NA2.

The OEM+ look has always been appealing to me, the NSX body in its original form is pretty much perfect to me. I dont like huge wings or widebodys really so i try to make modifications that compliment and do not detract from the original "aura" of a NSX. I still second guess myself on the Spoon mirrors and NSXR wing so just a little bit at a time. One piece i do lust over however, the 02+ rear lower valence. The Prodrives are a OEM+ look and do no detract from the original delivered spec of the car....basically i want my NSX to look like.....it could have come like that from the factory.....a Fauxnardi Type-RS Zero if you will haha

A step down from my Falkens RT615k in grip but really they are pretty good for under $500 for a set, ride smooth, not very loud.
I am cambered 3.5 degrees in the rear so im sure ill eat through rears enough that ill appreciate the cheap price.
^Shown here without 5mm spacers in front, front fitment is a bit mild compared to rear.

First off your pictures aren’t working...

Secondly your statement is off a bit. SOS isn’t doing NA2 wheels they are doing 02+ wheels. Remember NA2 is the code for the 3.2L engine and 6spd transmission. There are 02+ NA1 cars since ALL automatics from 1991-2005 were NA1’s. And honestly I think even with the number of pre-orders you still won’t see them as frequently as you think but perhaps I’m wrong. From what I’ve noticed people go to great lengths to make their pre 02 look like an 02+ because they find the body lines a bit more aggressive, which I’m assuming is why you’re looking to put an 02+ rear valance on a pre 02 car.

I don’t think adding a Mode4 bumper, 02+ style side skirts, and an 02 rear valance is the same as slapping an M badge on a non M car. The badge is a reflection of what the power unit is so in that case you’re lying about what’s under the hood. With 02+ body panels you’re just upgrading the look of your car and not necessarily deceiving the audience.

Hmmm i went back and redid them, maybe the pics work now?

Yea thats what i mean, the 02+ wheels i just dont get it. Idk i found the pre-02 bodystyle more appealing in every aspect besides the rear valence. Different strokes for different folks. For that much trouble and money to convert to 02+ i would have just bought one of those to begin with i suppose.

I suppose i am even guilty of it a bit putting a Type-R replica wing lol:tongue:

There’s a huge difference between M badge and a 02+ facelift. 1st the cost of the parts and labor compared to an adhesive badge. 2nd it’s still a nsx, very minor mechanical difference between pop and fixed headlights. The automatic 02+ share the same engine as the pre 97 NSX’s. Many owners do the swap after an accident or stumble upon on parts.

Wow...man you are non stop with this build!!!

How do you have all this time?

Just found ridies.com and looking to get some covers as they seem to have way better prices then leatherseats.com

How do you like them so far ???

keeping up the pace here i found these DaliRacing radiator brackets for like 30 bucks, they were cheap, rare, and looked better than whats there. Enough to coax my tight wallet open for another totally pointless appearance mod :)

I switched out my steering hub, managed to get a pretty good deal on all genuine WorksBell items. just a preference thing i suppose, the NRG stuff was actually fine but the WorksBell stuff is just "nicer" the over all action of the flip mechanism and fit and finish is just "that much" better. I prefer the "accordion" style cover on the short hub reminiscent of the type R hub, surprisingly the NSX specific short hub is not that easy to find from WB and not regularly stocked. I took it all apart and sold my NRG stuff, replaced everything. So now the hub tilts and has NRG slim QR (WB dont make a "slim" QR") and its way too long with a WB QR in addition. If i tally it all up it was around $875 which is probably double the cost if i went all NRG.

all in and i think its exactly the way i want it now. Flip up for ease of access, but with the security of a removable wheel.Everything feels nice and tight, car has never felt better.

i found myself needing a cupholder and i didnt like anything off the 3D printed style. I managed to find this old Dali cupholder from a member, it didnt come with the little matching slip cover so i cut up an old coozi and used sewing skills to make this. its not great but it works pretty good and it kind of means something to me since i made it with my own hands. Im not a huge fan of the camo but it was all i had, so its just part of the story haha.

I found a used (but basically new never installed) Seibon 02+ style rear valence for really cheap, it was just in Florida and the guy didnt want to deal with shipping. Made a couple of calls to some motorcycle buddies that live down that way and next thing i know i grabbed this thing for about half the going rate.

ill probably leave it carbon for the time being, but who knows if ill get around to installing it. seems kind of like a pain. so for now it sits in my garage wrapped up. Also got a $100 gift card to Home Depot i won at work, they had a great deal going a shop vaccuum setup with auto detail kit. very impressed with how robust and strong it is for $100.

Wow...man you are non stop with this build!!!

How do you have all this time?

Just found ridies.com and looking to get some covers as they seem to have way better prices then leatherseats.com

How do you like them so far ???

I have been really impressed with the ridies covers so far, they have been holding up great. Much of it comes down to the proper install and having a professional do it really shows. If you dont want wrinkles or at least minimal it has to be done by a pro.

as far as the time, i dont have much but the spare time i do have i like to tinker with my toys. in reality most of these projects are not "very" time consuming if properly planned and all the parts are in hand.

also got to work on a local NSX, some of you may recognize this as the old Scorp956 that was rebuilt by RUN_DLC. A local guy now owns it and the clutch recently lost pressure. So i offered to help out...im a decent wrench and he knows all about how to detail cars so it was a chance to learn.

-New Centric (OEM equivalent) Slave and Master cylinder (manually bled it by hand, trick was to pump up the clutch 200x before we really started bleeding)
-SOS stainless clutch line
-LarryB throttle body cleaning
-KN air filter cleaning/greasing
-replace some missing body clips
-clean targa seals, apply magic ShinEtsu grease on any and all rubber seal parts.
-owner wanted to plasti-dip the wheels bronze, they actually turned out pretty good

yea there is so much stereo/wiring/subs/amp from the early 2000s in the car the trunk is basically useless and the 2 subs take up quite a bit of the room for the seats to slide back. You can tell at one time someone really put some $$$ into that thing, it has aged pretty well. The NSX-R replica hood is probably the best fitment ive seen (its a chopped up OEM hood) and it has a really cool front lip that RUN_DLC molded. Overall the car is in pretty good shape but there isnt that much carbon fiber still on it.

not much to report really, the car is essentially "done". I just need to install the 02+ Seibon valence but ive been feeling lazy instead i installed some lower hanging fruit.

-used NA1 Shifter boot with Red stitch (picked it up for $20 used off the facebook page) Now my seats, steering wheel, and shifter all match.
-replaced the 300mm Momo-Team steering wheel with a 320mm Momo Monte Carlo (red stitch) that i found locally....wait for it....$20. Only because the stitching matched and the grip is thicker. I think this steering wheel is more "in character" with my overall design of the car and the thicker grip is a welcome improvement. Will save the 300mm for a S2000 in the future, ill need as much room as i can get in that car.

-Replaced ScienceofSpeed exhaust with Angus APXV2, but it droned really bad at 2500rpm and didnt sound that great outside the car; at least so im told. I let a buddy drive it and heard what he was talking about, it just sounded "flabby" and "loose" if that makes sense. More like Bwahhhhh rather than a nice tight high pitch

I sourced a barely used Pride V2 RFL found here on prime for a VERY good price, with the SOS high flow cats and headers.....the sound is just intoxicating and zero drone. It honestly sounds like a F1 car. The downshifts are just heavenly. Exactly what i was looking for, now the car sounds as exotic as it looks.
