With spring right around the corner... somewhere around that is... I thought I'd start on some work I've been putting off on my car. I'm trying to get my hands on Tein Type-Flex or preferably Mono Flex Suspension with EDFC controller. Does anyone know of any Dealers or Shops around the area from London to KW to T.Dot that might be able to get me a quote in Canadian. Figure I'd start local and then go elsewhere that is before I go South of the boarder in search of a 'deal'.

A local Canadian member previously promised me this suspension almost a year ago now has not been able to deliver me a response... and now no answers from numerous PM's I've sent over the weeks/months, nor does he answer the phone # he left with me. Has anyone recently seen or heard from member 'NSX R-GT'. I noticed there is activity on his member account this month, seems he is lost somewhere, or can't reply hope all is well? Where are you hiding Rocky, come out... come out where ever you are?

Thanks,
Richie

I'd try Teknotic, or any of those JDM suppliers. Also email Daryl at Tunerlab.jp. He's a canuck livin in Japan and can get almost anything you need sent over. I got my Tein Flex off ebay new when dollar was at par and it was a good deal.

Hey man, thanks I will check with them as well... I did check with JRP back in the fall I don't know how much the price has fluctuated if at all since. I wish I would have bought when our Dollar was almost par just my luck

Which version of the Flex do you have the Type-Flex or Mono do you have the EDFC as well? How do you find it out on the street?

Hey Richie,

I just realized I made a mistake. I have the Type RA with EDFC and tink they're great. My mechanic was expecting a harsh ride but when set at soft or medium at the recommended ride height they are very comfortable. EDFC's you can pick up for cheap from most import-oriented car forums as they ae quite popular. Mine was bought new off my.IS for $150!

Speedstar in Markham got me the Tein Mono Flex in about a week last summer...
I paid about the same as SOS is selling em for. Probably not a "deal" but theyre reliable and I know what Im getting before I pay. (i hate buying stuff online)

...just my $.02

Hey I wasn't sure if you could use the EDFC on the older model RA/RE's? I passed up a few sets of low kms used RAs already...

Any Tein with the adjustable firmness screw on top will accept edfc. All edfc is, is a small motor that twists the screw.

Hummm... now I'm slightly confuzzzed, I was told by a few people that know the RA/RE product that I cannot use the EDFC with them? No where on the tein site does it mention exact compatibility with older models just this http://www.tein.co.jp/e/products/new_edfctejun.html... "(If the end has non-threaded part, EDFC can not be attached.)"

OK, I am an idiot. I just looked up my receipt and I've got the Monoflex (MFP). I knew I didn't have the Flex and I'm certain it wasn't the balls out N1. I assumed the RA was the one slotted in between and thought that was it. So there you go, Monoflex. I paid $1710.00 USD for it in April 2007. Sorry for the confusion!

I had a Tein RA set up in mine, David Wilson owns it now and may be willing to sell the suspension. PM him at DaveW124 .

Ok thanks for clearing that up... it is the Monoflex that I'm leaning on, how do you find them out on the street? I used to have the Bilstein + Eibach setup on my old car and I really liked it, where did you mount your EDFC controller unit, ashtray?

Thanks I will keep that in mind... I'm still leaning on the newer Monoflex to be able to use the EDFC controller...

Hi Richie,

I love them on the street. In fact, full soft is almost too soft for the road..I normally keep it at soft/medium and full hard for the track.

My EDFC controller is mounted in the glovebox. I was thinking of puting it on the dash somewhere but everywhere I could think of looked either too tacky (like jdm cars with controllers and turbo timers everywhere) or intruded on my legroom. Its one of those gadgets I just set and forget (like a Ronco home rotisserie).

Funny thing just happened, I finally got word back from Rocky he was in Japan for the last few months & is bringing me back a Mono Flex + EDFC... guess I'll know in a week or so when he comes back.
