Hello, I know there have been numerous posts on this topic, however, I can't seem to find the answer for my particular problem. I have a 91 with about 86K don't know the history very well. EVERY time I get on it, (6+RPM) the TCS light turns on and only goes off if I turn the car off and on again. I tried to disable it and the 'TCS off light' comes on, but sure enough, as soon as I get on it, it comes on again.
Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

What size tires are you using? If the front-to-back ratio of the outer diameters is different from stock by more than 4-5 percent, TCS will kick in.

Another possibility is that TCS is functioning properly, but if your tires are worn (or are a non-OEM tire that's not all that sticky), they may actually be losing traction, in which case the TCS is working normally.

I have the same problem too! A major puzzle!!

FYI, I'm using oem 15/16 rims and oem tires.

Please help

i am running 17/18 toyo proxes. 35profile in the rears and 40 in the front. perfect tread, so loss of traction isn't the problem. i have to get the actual widths of the rims and tire sizes.

TCS is a fairly compex system with many different inputs. If it decides it doesn't like the look of the data coming in from any of the inputs, it will give an error and keep the light on.

You need to first pull the error code from the computer to get an idea of what TCS says it doesn't like.

If you want to do this yourself, you need to consult the service manual. If you don't have one, there is one provided here and you can easily jump to the TCS section: http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/Reference/1991_svcman/1991servman.pdf

thanks lud for the 411. in response to nsxtasy's wheel size question, i'm running 18x9jj in the rear with 275/35 and 17/8jj in the front with 215/40. would that setup be problematic?

thanks!

It shouldn't be. The outer diameter of the front is 3.0 percent larger than stock, and the rear is 2.9 percent larger, so the front-to-rear ratio is virtually the same as stock.

It was raining here in Dallas/Ft Worth today but in my other car. The last time it rained, my orange/yellow TCS light came on (the one on top) and stayed on. Is there a reason. Is that a malfunction? If I remember, I think that i had hit some water at a high speed ~60 or so and I felt it slip. When I started it again, the light went out. Any advice?

really sounds like your tcs deactivated hence the amber tcs is OFF light..why I dont know aside from your puddle incident.when you shut her down and restarted tcs came back up.think of it as a reboot for your tcs.keep an eye on it
