I just finished signing up. Jeanne and I will be there and participating in the rally with the NSX.

I have a question for CT/Westchester primers. Jeanne and I will be meeting Dave & Brenda for the drive up on Sunday @ 9:30/10ish.
You guys know these roads. Is it better to take the Merritt to New Haven or I-95? I know there are pros and cons of each, ie. traffic, potholes, speeds on this first part of the trip. After New Haven, it will be I-95 all the way.
Thanks much for any input. Any other members that would like to join us PLMK?
Regards
Rich B.

Rich,

I might go but are you planning to stay overnight? Also, if we do go, it would only be if I did not have to travel on 95. I personally don't care if it takes extra time, that road, drivers and especially truckers ----k! The trucks on that highway can throw stones the size of golf balls in addition to most of the truck drivers got their licenses' at Arthur Murrays dance studio!

If any of the drivers plan to stay overnight, Foxwoods has given us a group code for a discounted room rate on saturday and sunday. PM me for the code.

Good point Bruce. Now that I think of it, last time I went to Mohegan Sun, I was driving a truck!!:eek:
It's your state, if you know a nice route, we're all ears. As for the overnight stay ...... maybe. We need to consider traffic Sunday morning. Is that an issue and is 9 am departure OK?

This was a video from the Supercars Road Trips event held in NH this past August. There were no NSX's. I feel this one will be better.... plus, we have a garage. We need a camera guy for our cars. Any takers? I stink at video and stills. :frown:

Add another NSX to the list. Jeanne and I will be attending and are signed up for the rally. Sounds like fun.

Rich,

Please note the show is Sunday, 10/18 from 12 to 5. Staying over would probably be Saturday night.

Bruce
Bruce,
Jeanne and I have decided to stay over Saturday night, as well. Let me know what time you would be leaving on Sat. and maybe we can caravan? I will PM Dave S./Brenda and Simon/Andrea.

Bruce,
Jeanne and I had planned to stay over Saturday night and just now decided to scrap that idea and leave about 8 am on Sunday instead. If you still plan on going Sat., we will see you around 11 up there on Sunday. We may go for a his/hers massage in the hotel after the party and end up staying anyway. But that would be on Sunday night. Right now we plan to return 5 or 6pm if I don't get stuck at the craps table. Are you good at photos and vids? Should be fun!:smile:

If I may suggest a place for dinner on Saturday, if anyone is deciding on staying in the area on Saturday :-)

Love this place!

15 minutes from Foxwoods.

The Nordic Lodge buffet.

All-you-can-eat (and drink -- but alcohols cost extra):

Lobsters, Alaskan king crabs, prime ribs, and filet mignons
Full dessert bar
Full salad bar
Pastas, assortment of meat dishes / veggie dishes

with tax AND tip included.

All for:

$80/person

Sign up on the e-mail list upon entrance, and receive future coupons for a FREE 1-1.25 lb live lobster to take out after your meal. But you probably don't want a live crustacean in your exotics.

Best of all, monitored parking lot but security / valet (he stands there all night), and there are two lots, plenty of space to park.

Like Foxwoods, this lodge is in the middle of nowhere - very quiet.

Reservations are not required for groups of less than 20 people.

Rich,

If we can make it, Liz and I will probably leave Sunday am and then maybe stay over Sunday pm. Still not sure of our schedule that's why I haven't signed up...yet! We've got a lot going on so I'm not sure. We'll stay in touch.
BTW-no vids and digital camera is with my friend. Not sure when it comes back.

Bruce

Hey folks,
Time to start thinking about the drive up this Sunday, so I'll throw this out there for you guys to ponder. After reviewing many maps, directions and input from CT drivers, I think we will be better staying off I-95. We will however, add about 15 minutes to the drive. Good news, we subtract about 15 stone chips staying off 95.

Please let me know if this sounds OK?
We meet at/near a location on I-684 near Armonk (RSO-your pick) at around 8 am. Take 684 - 84 - 2 - Foxwoods approx. 135mi. Maybe Bruce, Will, Dom along the way. Perhaps a quick stop on 84 prior to Hartford.
We can be at the hotel by 10:30?

Comments? Changes? Etc?
Simon/Bailey: I can meet you earlier.
Regards
Rich B.

I normally take the Merritt up to 95. Not familiar with the Route you are taking but if there is going to be a meeting point on 684 it should be north of Exit 8 at the rest area which is a few miles south of 84.

Guys,

I took 84 many times and there are also trucks. Going through Hartford will add 35 minutes versus taking I95. My suggestion is to take the Merritt Pkwy (15) and switch back to I95 at New Heaven (Rt34), then 395 to Foxwoods. We will be on the 95 for 30-35 minutes and it will save us 25 minutes of driving. Merritt Pkwy is soooo much more scenic/twisty than 684/84 and we will be on it for 43 miles. :)

I really think this is a better way to go.

There is a Mobile gas station with a huge fake tree on the Hutchinson Pkwy (b/w exit 23 and 24) before the 287 and 684 where we can meet. We can also meet somewhere on the Merritt Pkwy.

Sounds good to me. I don't mind 95 after New Haven. I've only been on 95 in a truck and it seemed good after NH. I didn't know 84 was trucks too. These are the things maps do not tell you, no matter how many times you look them over. One thing: at the end of the Merritt, do you know how to get over to 95 without driving through the city of New Haven. That was the part I did not know and was hoping you guys did? This is a much better route to get there.

On the Merritt Pkwy, we can take Exit #57 on to rout 34 for 6 miles, about 1 mile in New Heaven and get on 95.

Rich, you should get a club radio. When you lead the last time...we circled for 45 mins....lol
