For all who have not tried an event similar to this, it is one of those rare events that must on the "Things to do Before I Die List;" moreso if you have an NSX. Did my first one 12/27, and am still all smiles.

Only 20 minutes further than the Willowsprings SpeedTrial USA event.

How many instructors are you expecting there? I think it is very important for a newby to have an instructor through out the day.

it is unconfirmed how many instructors as of now, but for sure they will be there.

just got confirmation people are already signing up and run groups are getting filled. if we want to have our own run group, everyone please register now.

see u then,
jimmy

Jim,

I've already signed up for Sunday, but there is no direct link to the online registration other than providing my credit card info. Should I download the form and fax it to Speed Trail directly? Anyway I'll contact my other friends.

Thank you

Trying to sign up online for sunday, I get the following:

"It is not possible to order from the store at this time.

Contact the merchant for further information (error 1002). "

Look forward to find out more detail on this.

Do they ever have classroom time to go through the basics about track driving? Last time, Mike only went through the track rules and driving etiquette. I think it is utmost important for us newbies to know the dos and don'ts. Thanks Jimmy!

I'm set for both Saturday and Sunday..

Oops,

Missed this thread completely, since it's in the Southwest Forum.

I'm registered for both days, and I can give rides to show the proper line to folks who are new to BW.

Hi Jimmy,

I noticed that the run groups for Sunday will be
using the following order:
(Intermediate, Intermdiate, Advanced, Beginner)

Does Speed Trial allow for orientation laps, so that folks
who are new to Buttonwillow can learn the line from folks
who know the track?

If that's not the case then can we ask the organizers to
allows both of us to run a few laps in the first session of
the day so that we can show the correct line to the
beginners and possibly a Lead and Follow for Eugene?

I think that a couple of laps per beginner would suffice.
I'm sure that we can take the folks out in the advanced
sessions but our pace would need to be slowed down
substantially in order for the folks to be able to absorb
information. (That would not be fun for the rest of the
folks who run in the advanced group).

Since you know the Speed Trial folks, I would let
you handle the logistics if possible.

If we can't get some orientations laps, I'll still take a couple
of drivers out in my first session to show them the line.

Ken

BTW: If that does not work out, I can always pay a bit
extra and register for running double sessions on
Sunday.
