Solicitation for NSXPO2010

I wouldn't mind Vegas. But I am coming without the car. I live in Orlando. Planning it in coordination with SEMA??? Wow! Great! + (whatever we are up to!)But these cars are not getting any newer. Why not hold a west coast event and an east coast event on different dates? Satisfy everyone and make it great. NY and LA. Vegas and Miami. Pheonix and Atlanta. Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Hit everywhere before we have to custom make all the parts on these beasts.

This needs to be seriously considered.

The funny thing is that everyone talks a big game until game time, then even when it's in their own back yard, it seems that only the NE crew travels!!!! In reality, it's not very practical to expect the members from over a thousand miles away to drive to an event, unless they're tracking their cars as well, or planning a leisurely cross country NSX adventure. I'd like to think that we'd all make the trip to Vegas, but whether you drive or fly, plan on the trip and it'll end up costing you a few thousand dollars to get there from NY, FL,DC etc between the hotel, event fee, etc. Not to mention if you go to the casino to play for more than 10 minutes. Many would rather put that into mods or maintenance. The cost of entry into ownership is way down, cars can be bought from $20,000 and up, I'd like to see more participation on our local levels. We've got great cars and for the most part great owners, let's get together and enjoy it all!!! Just a FYI, the people that put their heart and soul, time and own $$ into making and planning a NSXPO, hear all kinds of promises until it comes time to sign up and send in the deposits, than you can hear a pin drop.

The NSX Club of Las Vegas had our March meet today. Only thing on the agenda was specifics for the 2010 bid. Tentative dates are Thursday 10/28- Monday 11/1/10. SEMA starts Tuesday 11/2. More updates to come. Any input is appreciated.

Regards,

Danny

Vegas is good with me or So Cal

Danny,
I'm glad you guys are getting all your ducks in a row. It will take alot of work and planning to make this happen. Easily done if you have the manpower and know how. If you need any help from us SoCal guys, you know we've got your back!
Best wishes,
John

Requested past years' solicitations and will submit for 2010. Will try to coordinate with SEMA dates (11/3-11/6). A little late in the year, but I'm sure SEMA is worthy attrction/addition to the roster of events and we will try to get as many passes as possible.

Option #1: 10/28-11/2/10. No conflict with SEMA and can catch SEMA immediately after NSXPO.

Option #2: 11/4-11/9/10. SEMA in town. Better timing but rooms will be more expensive with fewer choices.

Either week will include:

1) Driving event at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch > LVMS (Local SCCA members to staff)
2) Indoor karting at either Fast Lap or Pole Postion Raceway
3) One or two days of scenic drives to Mt Charleston and/or Valley of Fire and/or Red Rock (also consider Death Valley)
4) Will check Hotel on Strip (Luxor, Mandalay) or off-Strip (Green Valley Ranch, Red Rock Station)
5) Friday night Drag Strip at LVMS Midnight Mayhem
6) Friday and Saturday events on the Strip.
7) Sunday Brunch before drive.

More info to come.

Regards,

Danny

This sounds awesome...would love to do Vegas!

Im going to get the Ottawa Canada guys to put a proposal together!

Canada's taking over!

I think we should go even more international. Maybe Europe, somewhere warm and sunny. Greece is nice, and even affordable. Maybe a small island off the southern coast?

I second Lesbos! We could also bracket race against the fastest NA nsx in the world!!!!

Lesbos is a place? I was thinking something WAY different.

This would be awesome, I hope you guys can pull it off.

Lesbos is a place?

It's where I live (when I'm not tending to my goats), atop Mt. Olympus.

Vegas sounds great! Bryce Canyon, North Rim of Grand Canyon are easy drives from there. I can see hookers, strippers and casinos in South Florida but nothing has Vegas' atmosphere.

Is anyone actually submitting a proposal?

I think Vegas would be a great idea, but is there a proposal? I'd fly out for that!

I'd fly out for that!

Let this be a lesson to all of you who are thinking of selling your amazing and beautiful NSXs to buy boring and not beautiful GT3s.

Sean would rather sit in a crowded economy class seat surrounded by 300 pound sweaty, smelly, snoring men and women who are pouring themselves over the armrest into his seat, than drive his car for more than 2 hours.

I can't even make it for a 1/2 hour in your car Dave. I think you had your hips surgically shaved to resemble a female pelvis so you could fit in those seats of yours! At least that's what I hope you had the surgery for :)
PS - you would totally fly out to Vegas. Just stop hitting on my wife!

I won't be attending NSXPO for 2009 (Toronto is too far away), so I'm setting my eyes on 2010. As a Southern California resident, my personal preference is to suggest a venue here. After giving this some thought and reading the keen interest there is in Las Vegas, I must agree a Las Vegas location has a lot going for it. So, I've decided to champion this effort, that is, if someone has not already done so.

A team effort may work best as there are a number of Primer's including those who reside in LV that have the experience and knowledge to put together a strong 2010 NSXPO location bid.

=> Does anyone know the status of a potential LV bid?
=> If not, who is interested in pooling resources to submit one?
