Seriously though, I think it'd be a good idea to have a Bay Area Chapter. Even if it may mean less funding for each member in the Chapter, at least we'd have some kind of structure and organization. That alone could be more valuable.

We have only owned our NSX for 4 months and were a little disappointed in learning that there was not much activity going on and what there was meant a long drive to Sacramento. I agree we have more than enough owners in the greater bay area. My wife and I are members of Z Owners of Northern California Car Club. She is the Secretary and conducts a lot of research needed to make events work. I set up and plan a lot of events and help others to get started. Here’s a list of some events that we have personally set up the past two years:

Annual Christmas Brunch
Annual Club Birthday Party
Annual Motoring J Style Car Corral – Solano Fairgrounds
Hearst Castle 3 Day Run – 2 Years Running
Death Valley 3 Day Run – 2 Years Running
Loneliest Roads – Hwy 50 to Ely, Nv – 4 Day Run
Brisbane Car Show

For 2008 we are doing:
Mt. Hamilton/Mines Road
Hetch Hetchy Day Run (near Yosemite)
Weekend Run to Mono Lake & Bishop
Durango, Colorado 7 Day Run for the Durango/Silverton Steam Train

These are all in addition to many others put on by other members. There is a lot to choose from. Zonc’s active members are very similar to the NSX’ers, in that most live outside of the bay area. They are pretty spread out. That’s why when we saw this thread; we thought this is exactly what the local NSX’ers need. From what we have seen (Corral at Laguna Seca, Sacramento Area Meeting, JDM Theory Car Show in Japantown on Sunday-5 NSX’s) NSX owners want to hang out with each others.

Sign us up!! We are definitely in and have a lot to offer. Now that Carlos has got this ball rolling, maybe we all can pitch in and make this a reality. Then we can all enjoy our NSX’s even more! Carlos, just name the meeting place and we will be there. Thanks for your great insight.
 
Yojack1 is no joke. They put on some of the best shows and very professionally done as I have attended a few of them. Definitely an asset to assist in coordinating events and get together.
 
Here is the NSXCA Chapter Formation Letter Ken sent me. Please take some time to review it.


Now that we have a minimum number that have stated they have an interest in having a formal Chapter. It's up to us to take the next steps..
How about setting up an informal meeting.....lets say we meet Tuesday evening February 12th to discuss how to proceed. Location to be determined.

Confirm here if that date works and you can attend
or reply here if that date doesn't work you.

Sounds like a very novel idea to me! Though I'm not an NSX owner I have attended your Sacramento event a few years back when it was held at an Acura Dealer? I remember the drive up there I had a tough time keeping up since I was driving my yellow s2000.....

I never knew it was such a formalized thing to get a local chapter started up...don't think we have anything like that for the s2000 or even m3 guys!

I'd be down to attend the meeting just to meet/greet some of the members as I'll eventually be getting an NSX down the road. Right now I can't find what I want so I'm just a lurker on here. Met a few of the local bay area and one Sac nsx owner who was extremely nice.
