help!!

Hey Guys
I need your help really quick. We need the measurements of your console covers in order to be able to cut them. I have quite a few orders going out today and tommorow, so I am just going to send them and send the console covers out once they are done. With the console, when you are installing your new covers you will unscrew the piece underneath the lid and remove the current cover. When installing your new one, you will be wrapping it around the console and screwing the piece back on. What we need is the measurments of the length and width of the console itself, and once we have that we will add a few inches on to that measurement so it can be wrapped. But I need to know how large the face of the console is so that we have an idea. This info will be very helpful ASAP!!!
Thanks
Kim

I don't mean to complicate things, (and am not a part of the group buy in any event), but the center console (armrest cover/compartment) changed for the 1993 model year, such that the 1991-92 cars are a one-piece design, but the 93+ are a two-piece design that will require two separate covers.

Yes, as a matter of fact, the piece that I was sent was actually a bit small, so the installer had to add a sewn seam along the front edge instead of making it one whole piece. The results were fine, but he did have to build it slightly differently due to a slghtly undersized leather. It's good you're getting that straightened out.

Mine is a '92.

Unfortunately, my car is STILL in the shop (although it's finally done and I'll pick it up in the morning). So I can't really measure it at this time.

I'll check here tomorrow, if no one else posts measurements I'll do so tomorrow night. Sorry.

I suggest you add at least 4 to 6", since the cover is about an inch thick and then has to wrap around and glue underneath.

Jeff

Glad you got the center console cover situation handled. I finally got my car back, so here's the closeups of the shift boot.

Is 98< different than 02+???

The shift boot they supplied was built to the correct size in my opinion. The bottom fit perfectly. The top part that I trimmed were extra tabs that were the seaming material (backing strips?) that were left long. I don't think they should change the dimensions of the boot they already make.

By the way, the chrome ring under the knob is visible in the car, but not too visible in these pictures. Due to the thickness of the leather, it's not as visible as it was with the OEM boot however.

That looks really good, thanks for posting the pics!

Out of curiousity, does anyone have pictures of the second GB of the leather seats? Preferably blk monotone leather, I am considering buying a new set from another member who sold his vehicle. Comments on fitment, quality, etc.......Thanks

Hello???

I need a few of you to contact me and I'm hoping that this way will work- Antonio; I have your cell number but it does not work, as well as the other numbers you gave me. I don't think that I can call them from Canada for some reason. Please give me a call as your covers are ready to be shipped and I need to know how you want them sent.

Parker; Please give me a shout ASAP. I have left a few messages at the number you gave me, so please contact me when you get a minute. The special material we ordered for you is here and we are ready to begin manufacturing..........
Thanks!

Got my leather this morning! Thanks Kim! I'm having it installed tomorrow. Will post pics once it's done. I'm just doing the seats for now, will do the side panels and console after. The guy estimates 1.5-2 hrs per seat, and the same for the panels. I know the seat part sounds reasonable, does the panel estimate sound ok for those that got the panels done?

Yes that sounds like the right amount of time for the panels. My installer needed 3 hours, to remove old covers, cut, sew, and glue them back on. There are 10 panels total.

Well I got my seats installed today! Overall, I'm quite happy with the results. They are not as taut as OEM, but still a fairly good fit. One of the problem areas in the first group buy seemed to be the bolster area, and for me it's fairly tight, no problems. I'll take some pictures tomorrow of the seats as well as the side panel pieces which come pre-cut now. The only question I had was I got a black leather square piece. I don't know what that is for. I don't think it's the console piece -- at least I hope it isn't because it's not long enough! I'll call Kim tomorrow to find out. I was under the impression that they were going to measure those and send them out separately...

I had mine installed today as well. My installer didn't like a couple of their plastic mounting strips and used the originals off of the oem covers instead. He also redid some of the velcro. He said the seats are otherwise of pretty good quality and the leather is good stuff.

The problem with the bolsters is still present to a smaller degree. In GB1, we're told the leather was actually loose on the bolster, with empty space underneath, plus obvious rippling. In my GB2 case, it's fitted pretty well to the bolster, but there's still some gathering/rippling due to the stitching at the corner of the insert. My installer explained to me that, as time passes and the leather dries and firms a little with exposure to the air and sun, there ought to be some tightening, but no guarantees. It looks fine to me, and if it tightens up, all the better.

That aside, I'm really happy with the seats. They look great, the seams are all nice and straight and the leather looks nice. They look at least as good as my old driver's seat, which was in pretty good condition other than the bolster wear-through. They look miles better than my old passenger seat, which the previous owner allowed to get so sun-damaged that it felt like rigid carboard. My car has always looked nice to me, and now it finally feels nice.

All in all, I feel pretty good about my purchase.

I'll take some photos later and post them.

Hello Everyone
I have a quick question. Don sent us the console covers for a later model, (I think '98+) and it is two pieces. We need to know if the smaller price goes in front towards the dash or if the larger piece deos because of embroidery. Plus, there is a small inward hook on each one. Does this go on the left or the right side???? For those of you who have received their covers and ordered console covers, your correctly-sized cover will be on their way ASAP.
Cheers
Kim
