Sebring Silver: Painted Matched or Black Top?

After being torn for so long on whether to keep my roof black or paint it red to match I've decided to go painted. So many other exotic owners have told me to paint mine and I'm forced to agree at this time. Both look good, painted just looks more modern.

The folks at Honda must have liked the colored roof better too because they changed it to a painted roof in later cars.
Not exactly. They changed the roof to body color for NSX-T, not necessarily because someone at Honda realized that it looks better the same color. With the top off, the canopy element (the reason for the black roof in the first place) is lost anyway. I think it was made body color to make the car look better with the top removed.

Besides a few body-colored coupes in 1994 and the Zanardi in 1999, all coupes, I think even the ones still available overseas today, come with a black roof - at least unless the buyer requests otherwise.

Ojas is right; the color-coded roof was a Targa-related "improvement" and also to make the car look like it has been updated because no drastic changes were in the works.
IMHO of course.

What is that black thing under the front emblem

Thats the front registration number display!
Some specialty registration numbers could reach up to $70,000 Malaysian Ringgit(about USD $18,000)

i like the roof painted imo... but i have to say it depends on the car, style, color, and what the owner is going for... For instance... i think a NSX-R would look just odd with a white roof...
