ScienceofSpeed Supercharger?

Ok, What are the offical Numbers???

No official numbers yet still waiting to complete my dyno tune we got 1/2 way through and stopped to resolve some minor issues. But my last incomplete run lay down ~377hp@272 ft-lbs to the wheels @ 7000rpm.... so I'm expecting to pull a bit more out of it next round since I have a bit in the rev range left to go.

Looking good!! Yes, lets see some numbers.

Btw, how come you are using the coupe rear strut?

We removed the original targa brace + clam shell they will not fit with the SOS charger installed. I'm waiting on SOS to ship their new one designed for the kit probably in a few weeks. So I used a spare coupe brace for now, it works but then again I haven really driven the car too much to tell the difference yet. I guess I'll have to start a new thread on the build soon since we are nearing its completion

looking forward to seeing what your car can produce.

BTW i love the look of your car.

Thanks man! Was nice meeting you & your gf the otherday... you've got a pretty nice clean car yourself!

Recently, I received a call from my transport company……your call is ready for pick-up. Long weekend or not in here in Canada, I drove for two hours and retrieved the car. At this stage, I would be remiss not thanking the team at SOS for their friendship and high level of professionalism.
You see…in the winter of 2009, I sent my 94 NSX to Phoenix for a complete retrofit---bumper to bumper. It came home kicking 420whp. More importantly, my specs dictated that we had to maintain the vehicles overall balance, a goal we readily achieved.
Well during Expo in Toronto, Chris and I spoke of additional modifications and somehow my car made its way back to Phoenix.
We added an intercooler. Yes…it added 30 more whp, although engine longevity was the objective. As an added bonus, and while the car was already emission complaint, the intercooler improved upon this very requirement.
We added other toys as well, one of which was an enhancement to the sound system. Without destroying sound imaging, rear fill speakers were added to the SOS audio system, along with a Kenwood DNX 9140 Navigation system. The fit and results are outstanding. A number of other tweaks were completed as well.
So to simply thank Chris, Jeff, Brian and all members of the team would be a grave injustice. At the end of the day, SOS achieved a feat that would make mother Honda proud. Without reservation, this is the way I firmly believe the NSX should have been created and designed from the get-go.
My business and plants design and engineer parts for the OEM community and it are with this that I must give credit where credit is due. Keep up the outstanding work Chris…you make our rare and extraordinary NSX community proud!!!!

Jim that is great news, we are still working on mine hoping to head back to the dyno a 3rd time to hopefully wrap it up. Had a couple issues to iron out but I think we've got them worked out now. My last dyno run using a dynojet dyno unit pulled 383hp@269 Ft lbs not sure how accurate my numbers are either since its not a load type dyno?

Did SOS do full EMS on your car? What was your hp before doing the intercooler package?

-Richie

Before the intercooler...420whp, after 449whp, but remember i completely rebuilt the engine.
As for engine management, i went with the fcon pro. However, up here i would stick with aem given local knowledge.

Jim did you build a low compression engine? Did you run into any problems with tuning FCON? Local guys here are mostly AEM tuners, there is only a few really good ones in GTA and surrounding areas.

Richie, any update to this (3rd dyno run)? We all want to see your ride next week. Hope you are coming out to Honda Indy and show off the new setup.

Haven't had a chance to update been busy... went past 3 Dyno Tuning Sessions not happy about that at all. We ran into some issues but I'm hoping to have them resolved soon but working on them Chris@SOS, Dyno Tuner, and FactoryNSXtech (Rob).

Not sure if the car will be making an appearance at Indy this week she is still in the shop at the moment.

hi Rich -- Have you had your tuner make the changes to the ignition map?

take care,
-- Chris

Not yet Chris making arrangements to take it back there hopefully he can fit me back in next week sometime to review the tune.

Richie,

What's the final numbers on the tune? Are you going to track it at the next TMP event? It would be fun to see how the car does on the track. Don't tell me you are just going to use the boost on the freeway. Let the car live a little!!
