So looks like my timing belt, water pump etc is due for replacement I was looking into getting it done sometime in the new year.

Then thought to myself while under the hatch what else can I do besides the standard maintenance things? I've become restless since the car has been parked up for the season now begins the next project year in '10. lol

I was wondering if anyone in Canada has taken the leap & picked up an SOS Supercharger yet? I've been thinking about it over the last few months and kinda of 50/50 on the wall about it or at least since NSXPO. I've asked Chirs@SOS a few questions about the system. I'm looking at possibly getting the intercooled charger version for my close to stock engine 3.2L NSX-T about 25k on it. I wanted to keep the engine internals stock and so far I've done Uni-filter + Comptech Headers + Ark DT-X exhaust. I guessing around 400~415hp out to the wheels, and car will mostly be street bound and would like to able to reverse everything in case I put the car back to 100% stock.

I guess I'd have to loose the targa cover for starters, and maybe see STMPO about a custom RTSB, not sure if the stock clutch will last or hold... anyone else comment on the package or your thoughts on it?

Talk to Biobanker (Dave), he's got it. Arshad has the older one. There's a black local NA2 here in Ottawa with the CTSC. Damn reliable, nice power and completely reversible. After my GTR I would never accept stock nsx power.

Hey Richie, Happy New years...

Well if you get a Supercharger kit for your NSX, this would make three Club members getting Supercharger kits for their NSX in 2010. Est fest drive is going to be a blast.

I have a ctsc and I love it. Get 2.1 sc & the intercooler from SOS, and you"ll be saying ? Well you get the picture.

I have a CTSC that was on low boost all summer. I just got the high boost set up installed. I haven't drove it yet so I can't comment on the difference. However, if I was to start from scratch again I would go with the Lovefab turbo myself. Makes just as much if not more power, is reliable, cheaper to purchase, easily reversible, makes more torque, sounds great, etc. Plus since the turbo includes a new exhaust you can take yours off and sell it if you wish to recover some of the cost of the turbo kit.

Hey John is that person on NSXPrime by chance? I guess as you would put it 'Project Money Pit' continues for me lol So now its either Turbo or Supercharged so leaning on the more emissions friendly version & reversible back to stock in the future.

Happy New Year to you too Bram! Who are the guys getting them & do any of them installed the SC yet? Have any of them passed emissions on an 3.2L?

I'll be saying something I'm sure lol... which CTSC do you have whipple or autorotor?

I looked into LoveFab kit as well as the one Angus offers. Dave (Biobanker) also mentioned about emissions which is another reason why I was leaning towards the SOS Charger.

My NSX always passes emissions for the last 4 times in 8 years since CTSC was put on. If I stand correct on a 3.0L with the whipple/lysholm s/c 1.6 with the high boost kit or with out it will pass emissions. On a 3.2L with the whipple/ lysholm s/c 1.6 will pass emissions but with the high boost kit it will not pass emissions. I not sure about the CTSC autorotor 1.7. The SOS 2.1 or the turbocharger will not pass emissions. WHAT TO DO WHAT TO DO......................

base autorotor CTSC. Its passed emissions a million times with ease. Never any problems with it.

Install, look at AF, hit gas, go through tires in 2k kms (seriously).

Myself, and Ive had my car on the track one time, I dont see the need for more power. 360 at the wheels without ANY hassels. Hell, I used the stock clutch with it for 3 years.

Plus, the SOUND.

Id have sold the car a few years ago if I didnt have it.

Richie- after hearing Chris talk at NSXPO, I really liked the SOS charger with the intercooler. It's power curve and reliability, as well as emissions would do it for me. The power curve is a hyper-NSX power curve; whereas the turbos out there are lag lag - PSYCHO BOOST.

Get Rob (NSXTECH) to install it for you! It would be awesome.

Anyone know if Henry is boosting his car with the gift certificate he won at the XPO auction?

I take it you can hear the supercharger when you step on it :confused:

I've driven Dave's car. You hear it, but the thrust pushing you through the windshield is very distracting, so I could barely hear any supercharger wine. The exhaust note is great though!

The sound from Dean's car is awesome. You definitely hear the SC and is sounds crazy. Dean's got the Taitec Parallel and we drove through a tunnel and it was just unbelievable!

It was in the early days of Dean owning the SC... we were just laughing when we drove through the tunnel, it was so much fun.

Sean, yea I liked the hp power curve it starts building boost at low rpm & its based off the true & well tested design CT which we know has been around for a long time & is reliable too.

I haven't seen Henry since XPO, wonder if he already go his on the go? Is he around on Prime?

My brother has already been in touch with Rob about timing belt etc for his car, I'm still waiting to talk to him about mine in the near future+ the possible charger decision?

Is the autorotor version quieter than the older whipple I think I've read something on prime about it? I've noticed a few CT's for sale here too...

The old whipple charger isn't that loud - but you're best bet is to ask Chris at SOS about a comparison.

I'm waiting for Red to show up with a gay joke here.

BTW Richie, the black NA2 with the autorotor in Ottawa is not here on Prime afaik.

Just do it, stop talking and do it. You won't regret it.

I have heard the CTSC at full song. I am going to say my GMSC kills it in the sound dept *throws gauntlet down*:biggrin::biggrin:

Just a few points on the questions:

The supercharger we use in our system is much quieter than the Whipple (the loudest), and quiter than the Autorotor used by Comptech / CT Engineering.

Our system produces 140-180 wheel horsepower gains (160-200 at the crankshaft) depending on the configuration and if you elect to install the intercooler. This is primarily due to the larger compressor we use and the more advanced fuel / ignition system included. We provide a tuned calibration with the system, however, you'll need to work with a dyno shop in the area that tunes AEM F/IC or EMS depending on your year.

Owning a system on my own car, I know you'll be impressed. It gives the NSX seamless throttle response with out the lag of a turbo and small block V8 torque.

We recently dropped our price $500.00 on the systems, check out a recent write up here (feel free to ask any other questions here as well):

Bahah... I was thinking the same thing hoping they wouldn't Hijack my thread with the jokes :frown:

Yes I know your GMSC growls like a wild cat! LOL I want to do it comes down to as you would call it 'Project Money Pit' & how much I can afford to spend on my Mistress this season... I was hoping at CT group buy would come along but no such luck I missed the one from years ago. Since SOS brought their version out I've been contemplating it over the CT & other induction versions out there.

I always wonder why people don't jump all over the CT/SC auction the club does every year for XPO... that's if you can wait until July/August this year's winners got them for $7400 plus install.
