Figured it was about time time to write the next chapter in the incredible life of this amazing Zanardi --#34. Thanks to many individuals (specifically Joe Lomoriello and Mitch Farner), this special Zanardi continues to bring joy to many, especially its current owner, me. No doubt, this rare icon along with its story of survival, will continue to entertain for many decades down the road.
Since acquiring the car on Bring A Trailer late in the first quarter, 2024, I have spent quite a bit of time improving upon an already professionally repaired automobile....fortunately the car hasn't required anything major. First goal was to replace the "he-man" Comptech clutch with a much more manageable SOS Sport 350. Next was to address the underside of the car -- cleaning dirt, removing paint overspray and replacing lightly rusted components. At this point, the car looks and drives extremely well and ready to show off in the spring at various CarsNCoffees and NSXCA events.
I get that the car will never rid itself of its tainted history of being the Zanardi which was almost "totaled". However, I really do look forward to others taking close looks at the car and critiquing it -- I want to hear the opinions of others -- both the good and bad. As with all of my cars, I live to drive them, view their beautiful lines and improve upon their condition. This one currently sits at the top of my list.
