Sale pending, my first project (should be a good one)

I only have an exhaust [comptech] at the moment, but I plan on getting headers sometime down the line....just don't want to deal with the installation as I'd most likely install them myself.

If I get the RDX stage 3 tune, would that make my car run rich since the tune is supposedly for a higher mass flow of air?

Thanks for your business! I'm really glad you enjoyed the injector mod. That much torque is noticible that's for sure. :)

You're correct this should work well. If anyone with a CTSC wants to try this mod out on the dyno PM me.

I don't see why this shouldn't pass the sniffer. My stage 3 passed emissions with no problem and this is a modified stage 3 to handle the 410cc injectors.

sup fellas, went to smog "test only" yesterday and my car passed like a charm! just make sure you warm up that catty very good before you get a smog and keep your engine running.

i enjoy driving the car more now after the rdx injectors mod. again, i give kuddos to brian at prospeed for lots of help and advice. i trully highly recommend this to everyone if you're going to n/a route. :wink:

You'll notice all of our injectors have a narrow cone spray angle, this is intentional and a big part of why they work so well. Atomization is important, but spray angle is more important. A very nicely atomized spray of fuel turns to a very poorly atomized mist of fuel once it contacts port or runner walls. You want the fuel to mix with the air as much as possible without landing directly on the walls of the port.
 
Any other people been trying out this setup? OEM parts and that much gains really seems like a no brainer to get, but I'm hoping to hear more reviews before thinking about this more seriously.
 
Update: Found a vendor who had the AEM 303 FPR in stock...I have that and an Autometer 1-1/2" fuel pressure gauge on the way in the mail now...
 
Per recommendations from Bisi and Tony Palo, they both believe that the "modern" injectors, like the RDX and the Bosch EV14 (ID725), work better at higher fuel pressures (55-60 psi, vs the OEM 44 psi). The 303 will allow me to adjust fuel pressure on the spot.

Bisi thinks it will be worth "a lot" of power, while Tony thinks it will be "a couple." We'll see who's right. Personally, I'm cautiously optimistic, so I'll say 3-4 hp to continue with my $45/hp rate of improvement on this mod (the FPR and gauge cost me just under $180).

Just saw this today. Your statement of "60% power loss is due to heat" shows your complete lack of knowledge of basic physics. How about some basic concepts of thermodynamics, energy and power?

haha, in the beginning of thread there were several ppl whining about what loc wants to do to his own car going the all motor route. those guys... *thumbs down*.

the boosted guys are spoiled and i haven't read through the entire thread but some of them obviously have no appreciate of going naturally aspired. 4 whp here, 3 whp there, 8 whp there... when it all adds up it is much more rewarding than simply boosting. boost is simply the great displacement equalizer. boost will never achieve the response of na. each have their pros/cons there's no need to shit on the other.
 
Brian has been working a "REV.2" which is supposed to improve throttle response, improve the mid-range, and changes the VTEC crossover point.

I haven't heard from him in a bit, but I know he's slammed with school and work, so hopefully he'll chime in.
 
I just read this entire thread and it was like L RAO was the underdog almost like a crazy scientist with a vision that in his head makes sense and then throws it out there to see if others concur and then gets varied feed back but like all mad scientists and a firm believer of his theory he keeps on trucking and "bammm" triumph:smile:
This was a great thread, L RAO being the hero of the thread others villain's and some allies, but it is nice to see that even villain's can be humble and give credit when deserved:smile:

I just wanted to do some classic hot-rodding, and I'm glad it worked out.

I just wish it were that easy to get someone to make newly cast camshafts for our car.

As an NA fan I've read any post over the years where someone has tried to get more NA hp and so far no one has achieved close to 300rwhp from an NA1 (that I know of) and that includes cars with free flow intakes headers, SoS's ITB's, injector & fuel pump upgrades and all the right ECU tweaks.

So this injector upgrade is aiming to push that boundary (again) and I will be very impressed if it reveals any significant HP gains. But based on what I've read over the years it's highly likely to be just a few hp at best. Here's hoping I'm wrong !

BTW my NA1 was stock until I fitted top speed headers taitec GTLW muffler and the air intake in the wheel guard deleted. They gave me about 20hp which I still enjoy on every drive. Later I fitted a higher pressure fuel pump and fuel pump resistor override switch and they made no measurable difference in hp, although it wasn't a waste as the OEM pump was starting to fail.

We found 17 wHP with the RDX injectors + ECU, including 35 lb-ft of wTQ from 3500-6500 RPM. Very usable power.

I should be getting my ported intake manifold + 74 mm Blox throttle body back soon. I am hoping for another 12-14 wHP out of that.

So that 17 brought you up to your current 264whp, right? That's a worthwhile gain. Were there any other mods at same time ? and what ECU / settings? Have you posted the before/after dynos already?
