Yes... I found a guy in Anaheim, CA who performs a 4-step process. (of course, if you know about plating, you know there are many more steps to a typical 3-step process. Anyway...) 1) copper, 2) nickel, 3) bright nickel, then 4) chrome. I have had many people tell me that they can tell the difference... but I can't.
I had them done almost 10 years ago. So far, there are no problems.
After researching and reading posts about the PVD chrome process, I will probably give that a try next time I have any "chroming" performed.
