red/black paint the top red?

It's hard to beat the look of a black top. Even on a Vette!

Haha, oh how I wished I could say I have met and talked to him in person. Tbrom, you might have skimmed a bit to fast. The paint process is quiet detailed, fascinating reading realy, but for our coupes especially it is all done at the same time.

Adding the black was done afterwards, hence an added step costing more money. The matching top was always there, just under the secondary black coating. We could actualy look down our noses at those matching color guys and gals as having the cheaper versions, nah. Haha.

What did you think of the Ferrari vs Honda discussion in the third video, I would have never looked at buying a Ferrari as a "gift" to help sponsor the racing team. In retrospec it makes sense for a "few" extra cents.

As far as the final gears go; ring and pinion, they kinda require you to pull the tranny. But, since you are there already for a few cents more you might as well drop in the O.S. Gikken LSD all at the same time. This morning while I was roasting coffee I was actually having a debate with myself about just this topic. I'm gonna start a thread later, it's been discussed before, but I'm interested in asking some more esoteric questions on the topic.

TyB, I guess we're taking this thread a bit off track - but speaking of "track" - the two videos are super great! I watched them both this morning when I should be working - it's all your fault:biggrin: - but great stuff - just super. Tsuchiya was really working hard in the Ferrari - he was working hard in that yellow car that was souped up too - said it was scary. Man those guys testing cars in the rain - that is some great driving. I love watching the tach - the feet- really gives you a feel for what's happening in the cockpit. They all had cool new radios too. I might have to do something with my dash too. I might rethink selling my ac vent in my car and doing a CF wrap but - maybe not.

I love those R type wheels - would like to have them. I was really impressed with thier thoughts on the S type suspension or in our case Zanardi type suspension - they really liked it and better than the R type for everyday driving. If I do something else to my suspension I might have to source out some Zanardi stuff. We'll see.

I know one thing - I won't be painting my roof silver.....

Say while you were pondering the final drive gear 4.4 and the LSD - what would that cost - any idea?

Well my context was not on price, but on originality. Since the cars were all originally painted one color, and than have the black painted over it. I would say the single color nsx is more original than the ones with the black roof. This of course is meant as a half joking half sarcastic tone that gets lost in typing =)

Oh, subtle humor... me likey! Which is more original, paint process laid out by the engineers, or the design sketches from the car designer? Still stiring the pot here, but just asking. Ha.

Tbrom, those nsx-r's interiors are just how they left the factory and look oh so sweet I might add. Suspension wise, I'd have to say for the $, I'm investigating the KWv3's. The ability to corner balance can not be overlooked for getting your car to turn left and right without bias, especially if you get in a little too hot on a corner and get into a little oversteering. Also, stainless construction and engineered with a nsx on a 7 post rig. As to the LSD, science of speed do a lot for our community and live nsx's, they also stock them. link

I see that this link has led me to the possibility of spending a lottttttt of money on the final drive and LSD - - wow! Take that and the V3s and you are looking at around 6k. WoW and that doesn't quite have em installed now does it. Oh boy:rolleyes: here we go again.

As to the interior - it's the radio - that's not stock. One of them had a screen - the other were two units and one with the pop up screen. No that is not stock from the factory. I might agree if both the two guys cars were the same - they're not.

I think the more original is the black roof. No doubt. It matters not what the under coat was. It wasn't intended to be finished until it had the black paint applied!!
