Here is Thom's response. Regarding the pictures (he is also willing to have a discussion)
He shows the mounting point are on even plan using an angle iron. He needs to notice that one of the mounting points (front one, if I remember correctly) is at an angle not flat to his angle iron. When we project away from the car in the direction of the wheel, the mount needs to make up for the delta in more than one direction. The rear mount is flat therefore it would just move out only; the front mount requires more offset (up). In order to manufacture the pivots to be the same, both where manufactured with half the distance needed, hence one is high (front), turn the other one around and it is low (rear). Not sure how else to describe it unless I was there.
