Pulls Right Under Moderate - Hard Acceleration

I will have a chance to jack the car up and take a look at it later tonight after work, however the car is pulling pretty hard to the right under acceleration and the rear end is doing something funky/weird under hard acceleration. The car then feels nervous again when you quickly get off the throttle from acceleration and it pulls to the left.

The suspension seems to feel ok when not accelerating, if I turn hard left or right it takes a set and feels stable.

If anyone has any insight or has experience a similar problem please let me know to look for once I get the car up in the air.

My initial thoughts are the transmission or possibly the motor mounts, diff, blown shock on just one side or alignment?

Verify that your rear axle nuts are tight. Previous owner of my car didnt torque mine down tight when I bought it and had the EXACT same issue until I got em torqued down tight and spiked.

I think you may have nailed it, renting a high torque impact tomorrow to tighten the left axle nut which looks like it was reused and ghetto staked a full half turn from the original stake.

Problem verified as the left axle nut. The problem is the threads on the axle are now stripped and damaged from sliding around.

I have a new/used axle getting overnighted for Monday, hopefully I will still make it to NSXPO!

Glad you found it but sucks that it had already caused damage. Mine was pretty damn loose and sketchy to drive. Been solid ever since.

Gald you found it. Imagine a run on the track at NSXPO, coming hard into a turn and the nut comes loose the rest of the way.....:eek::eek::eek:

been there:eek: not at xpo but at wgi...I was able to get around and pit wobly wheel and all.

Yup. I had a similar incident earlier this year in my other car; the axle sheared right below the axle nut. The wheel/tire does not actually come off; it has some play but the brake caliper is still surrounding the rotor and that keeps the wheel/tire from coming off entirely and rolling away. Like docjohn, I knew something was wrong right away (from hearing metal scraping sounds from those brake components), and limped the car the rest of the lap and back into the pits.

do you get new tires? or 2 new rear? or 2 new front?

I had the same issue it was the front were to hard and the rear were 2 soft. so I had to get all 4 matching tires.
