Proposed SGV mini-meet for the drive down to C&C

ryu,

Is there a new meeting place and time change that I heard you and Jerry talked about tonight???
good ears! we tossed around meeting at the same Hat we were at last night due to driveway inaccessibility concerns at the other Hat on Garfield. As mentioned before, the good news is that there are multiple entries to the Hat on Garfield (it's a corner property also).

if it's ok with you guys, since C&C is next week, i recommend not changing the location last minute since there may be some folks who did not subscribe to this thread who *may* still want to meet there at buttcrack early in the morning.

Just remember (for all folks!) !!! We're all meeting at 5:10am and leaving The Hat no later than 5:20am. If you don't make it in time just start heading down on your own and catch up with us.

Just a quick update regarding The Hat's driveability with their driveways.

I went and checked out the ingress/egress of The Hat on Garfield. I drove the NSX and didn't have any problems going into the parking lot from either Garfield or Valley was not a problem. I cut it a lot just to be safe and I didn't hear my chin spoiler scrape or anything else. I did feel my suspension articulate quite a bit though. Granted i've only got a mild .85" drop on mine.

If you're really worried I recommend taking the Valley entrance on the seafood restaurants driveway. It's about 15ft next to the driveway for the hat and the slope is much less aggressive. There's about 6 driveways that interconnect and all will get you to the Hat's parking lot.

I would say, it's a safe bet that going into and coming out of the parking lot should be a non-issue.

C U on Saturday!

i honestly don't know. i only know of The Hat and Garden Cafe in that area but not much else i'm afraid. My commute takes me up Atlantic and I haven't had much of a life to cruise Valley in a while ;) haha

I find that impossible with someone driving a Chevelle  J/K

I think it's the one, we passed it when we were heading to the S2K meet up place.

Ok, thanks for the heads up. Be sure to make it this time Eric!

Good luck on midterms tomorrow Jerry!!!
Of course I'll make it out Sat, wouldn't miss it!!
Hopefully my dad can drive so I can concentrate on taking some shots on the freeway! If not i'll drive and take pics like I usually do!!

Just for that, i'm going to drive (the Chevelle) to go see this place you guys call PinkGo's...!

Update: I finally found the place. It's over by the old gun shop. I would have never known it was there if I didn't get out and walk around. So, no, it's not that parking lot but The Hat is on the same block. If you enter from the PinGo parking lot then you'd get stuck in that lot. You'd have to enter on the alley behind PinGo to get The Hat.

Also, the best driveway for the really lowered guys would be the Seafood Restaurant driveway. It's pretty tame. Again, my mildly lowered NSX doesn't have a problem on any of the entrances but I think you guys are all lower than me.. except for 4x4 lazynok!

Humm, a tough guy driving his hardcore muscle car to a pretty Yogurt shop? Don't know what you'd like to do on your spare time, but count me out! :) BTW, thanks for the heads up Regen.

Would that be with a dot 22 or?

You've been out of the loop for ages man... are you finally comming out again?

so the hat in garfield/valley?

alright. 5am it is at the hat off garfield/valley. see you sgv guys in two

it better be the right place...haha...don't wanna be at the wrong "Hat" and end up waiting till 6am, lol. Never been there but ya.

ryu: I suggest you post the confirmed and final meet loc sometime today so that way the last minute people can confirm and verify that their directions and correct.

Will do! I'll update the above post shortly. I'll also have handouts with directions on how to get to Irvine location and exactly which parking lot we're meeting at. Probably don't need it but just to be safe!

You all well not be leaving early enough for my taste... so, i well be seeing you all down there.

Drive safe!

.
I can't tell if this is sarcasm or if you're being for real. hahaha

We're not waiting for anyone past 520am sharp! Which leaves us 40 mins of drive time until they start assembly at 6am @ Spectrum. Even if we get there at 615am that should still be enough time since they won't be getting on their way until 630am. I think we're all relatively intelligent people so hopefully this whole thing goes smoothly.

I'M EXCITED!

Regan,

Thanks for setting this up. Was bit late as I was getting gas across the street. (apologies to everyone)

Was great meeting new SGV members as well.
