Playing with a few ideas. The factory size for the Brembo logo is only 83mm wide. It would look like a postage stamp on the caliper :biggrin: . On the other hand I don't want it to big and "blingy". I'm going to have the local vinyl shop cut out a few sizes if the Brembo logo and maybe a few Honda/Acura NSX related logos also.

I'm also planning to design and build some carbon fender liners and brake ducting this winter. I'm not looking forward to removing the factory undercoating :frown:

Thanks Daniel, A friend of mine was at SEMA and we were looking at some pics yesterday. You car looked very nice. Was that your Elise there also?

Wow! I'm just now seeing this thread. As others have stated, I also commend you on your work.

Can't get over the size of the calipers and rotors. I thought my Stoptechs were on the big side...:eek:

Thanks for the visual. I think I'll stick with the silver.

If anybody is interested in doing this I can get these calipers for ~$700 a pair give or take a little, BRAND NEW.

Is that for 13" or 14 " rotors? does that include retainers, springs, pads? I may be looking for another set:wink:

I'm not quite sure yet, I'm looking these up but I don't have a big brake touareg here to make sure that the calipers I'm pricing are in fact the big ones. From the best of my memory I think they are cause I was going to do the same thing for my supra. Trust me the first time I saw one of these come through my dept. I freaked, they're huge. I will locate a touareg tom. and double check everything. I can tell you they don't come with pads but you prolly won't want the stockers anyway.

Alright, I got the vin off a brand new TT diesel which had the monster brakes and used that, so from the looks of it I should be able to get these to you for,

Drivers caliper (7L6-615-123-Q) LIST $460.27 ----> YOUR COST $300.31
Passenger caliper (7L6-615-124-Q) LIST $460.27 ----> YOUR COST $300.31
Pads (7L0-698-151-J) LIST $187.00---> YOUR COST $135.29
Parts kit (7L0-698-269-A) LIST $67.08----> YOUR COST $41.28
The parts kit is a set of attachment parts for brake pads, it lists one per app. but I'd have to look at it to make sure it does both sides. obviously shipping won't be dirt cheap but they're heavy parts.

Nice. not so interested in the pads (I would use aftermarket anyway) but the parts kit (springs and retainers) is a must. The caliper should have a casting code on it Z17 for 13" rotors and Z18 or Z19 for 14". or at least the VW and Porsche ones due.

David,We'll be in touch.:biggrin:

If anyone wants this set up I can do it for you. I have all the measurements. You just need to be able to fit a large loaf of bread inside your rims :tongue:

Fronts all done. Bedded them in this morning. Work good even with the stock rears. The SS brake lines made a big difference in the pedal firmness. I don't think I'll need to upgrade the master cylinder. I'll do some high speed stops to make sure the bias is good. Here are the pics.

Here is the caliper logo I decided on.:biggrin:

Had the local vinyl shop cut it out for me. The logo is available here. You can download the eps file and take it anywhere to have it cut. There are tons of great logos on this site, not just Honda.

vroom... those caliper logos were a great choice...
