I have made a similar underbody cover like the Type R has for the front from aluminum. I did not know the original fins were made of rubber, but if so, I think I have discovered why. I have driven the car only for a few short distances but already, one of the fins is somewhat bent at the end, probably from something hitting it although I never heard anything.
we dont have problems with our system.
Even the 2 NSX-R race cars are using that system....also no problems.
But we are using a special mounting system.
Would like to know if how your rear diffuser works as well. Is it just a straight cover or is it curved like the one SoS sells ?? And what point do you use to fix it?? Am thinking of making a rear diffuser myself to complement my 2002 lower valence.
The diffusor works very well, also the race cars have them
Its the NSX-R OEM diffusor, the rest is from the LM car, a straight plate with fins.
I dont know the other brands.
For the LM diffusor, I took the mounting points from the rear bumper, thats
very stabil.
For the 2002 rear valence I would recomment my NSX-R cf diffusor.
This installation is easy, 6 screws at the lower part of the rear valence.
(Most exhaust systems have too big mufflers, additional diffusors are difficult to install because they will hang too low)
One other question, I seems no one ever covers the area at the rear of the NSX where the petrol tank is mounted (just in frond of the rear suspension parts). Have you thought of that part yet ?? Should be relatively easy to do unless there is a very good reason not to.
Not sure which part you mean...is it the outer cover?
