Pre-NSXPO Party

WOW! I did not see this thread before. Guys, I'm a local NSX owner (94 Brookland Green bought in Feb this year). Live 10 miles from Ray laks and work a mile away from there. I cannot attend NSXPO this time but would love to attend this meet at Ray Laks.

The hotel is beautiful. I'm sure you'll like it. Please let me know what you guys would like to do around here in Buffalo and let me be your guide. There are two nice casinos on Canadian and US side. On US side, the drinks are free but casino is smoke friendly. From Ray Laks, falls is 30 mins ride. If you want to go for Boat ride, you'll have to be there by 5:30pm I think. I will double check but they close early after labor day weekend. Till that day they operate till 9:00 pm.

About food, US side casino has very good Italian restaurant, Asian restaurant, very good buffet, and 24 hrs dinner and their own parking garage (either valet or park your own - I always park myself). There are lot of other very good restaurants in Buffalo areas as well.

As far as place to meet, there is a big mall right across Ray Laks. You can meet there with other group if they can make it. That way you would not have to meet them on the side of the freeway. The parking section across Ray laks in that mall is usually empty since they built "Galleria Mall" nearby. That mall is huge and a must visit for anyone who does not live near New York City. What else? Ask me if you have any questions and I'd be glad to help you all!!!!!!

For those planning a side trip into Canada....

Some of us are going to head across the border to check out Niagara Falls and if you plan on doing so make sure you have the necessary ID to get in and out of the United States:

A driver's license on its own or a Social Security Card on its own are not valid ID to cross the Canadian border.

The following pieces of identification will serve as satisfactory proof of American citizenship to enter Canada.

Please note, however, that photocopies of ID are not acceptable, only originals:

US passport

OR

Birth certificate,

OR

Certificate of citizenship or naturalization,

AND

Photo ID, such as current driver's license

I'm just curious, how much extra driving is required to go to Buffalo as opposed to striaght to Ohio? My schedule is kinda crazy and might have to just go thursday morning.

If you bail on Buffalo then you are certainly welcome to join our group heading out EARLY Thursday morning  The ride from our area is 9 hours
Let me know if you are planning on joining us or going North first

Just a quick reminder, radar detectors are a no-no in Canada. If your caught with one it's a stiff fine and they take your detector.

The "Buffalo Stampede" was awesome.

Ron & Ginny went all out with so many personal touches.
First upon checking in at the hotel, we were greeted with a gift of a stuffed Buffalo doll to welcome us to town.(Courtesy of Ginny and Ron)
When we arrived at the dealer, the folks at Ray Laks Acura, one by one, took the cars into the service area where the detailing staff performed a wash, dry, vacuum and parked the cars with loving care.

Ginny put together a spread of food that included "beef on a weck" and two types of Buffalo wings that are legendary in these parts. The many homemade salads and sides were soooo delicious. It was like being home at a family barbecue where all your relatives prepare and bring their best dish. Ginny, you are incredible! Ron and your sons are some lucky men.

I know someone will post some pics to let you all take a peek but they can't convey the warmth, hospitality and good cheer that Ron and Gin poured out for all to enjoy. THANK YOU BOTH!

As for the Mike (GM) and the folks at Ray Laks I think they were having as much or more fun than us. Again, the friendly atmosphere was so wonderful I wish they were coming along to Columbus.
Thanks to Ray Laks, Ginny and Ron. I can't say it enough.

Great get together! Awesome hosts - cute buffalo, delicious sandwiches and a car that went from REAL dirty to clean.

Thanks Ray Laks, Ginny & Ron - fantastic!
