The r8 looks good from the back. Face looks too late model TT.
^^^ thought you hated the bug eyes?
2 NSX's... 91 and 02+... there is no scenario where i would have 0 NSX's.
Why have you not had your 2002+ NSX?
or the latest McLarenMake the R8 into the 458 and I will give u the answer
I have driven, like canyon driven, an R8 and it just feels so heavy compared to NSX. R8 shifter... sucks, I think my old Starion shifts better.
mmm...V10....if its not too heavy.I would only for the v10 r8. The v8 is ok, but not mind blowing.
+1, the frt looks unfinished with a stubby, short overhang....I'll take half the car.The r8 looks good from the back. Face looks too late model TT.
I disagree.. people don't have to have driven both or owned both to qualify to answer this simple poll. If it were "After driving both, which do you prefer?" then I would completely agree. Buts its a raw opinion question based on whatever criteria the person voting on decides it to be. The question, and it's base point, appears to represent a price to price comparison. At market value, you can get 2 NSX's for the price of 1 R8..if that is the case, which do you prefer and why? Nothing more, nothing less.

I see your point. But the point of view I am taking is that unless you experience something, it really is hard to make a fully informed opinion on anything other than the looks of the car. How do you value something you have no experience in?
For example. I have had people tell me in the past that my NSX is an 'overpriced Jap car'. I then ask if they have ever driven one? Almost all say 'no'. I have then offered to let them drive my car (with me in it of course), and most of the time the ride ends with a, 'WOW! I had no idea that car could do that,' and they then have a total turn around on their opinion of the car. See my point? In order to properly judge, it really helps to have experience with something to see if it is of value to you. If all someone knows about a car is what it looks like and the cost, they have not really been able to figure out if the car is really of value to them. That is all that I am saying.
The funny thing is that beforeI drove the R8 I was not impressed, and had no desire to have one. After driving the R8 for about 350 miles, I loved it, and would absolutely buy one.

I have to agree with Meeyatch. A good friend of mine owned an R8 and I was fortunate enough to spend some butt time in it. Outstanding vehicle and a pure pleasure to drive, more enjoyable than my NSX to be honest. Outshines it by far with all the nifty techno gadgetry that the R8 includes, especially if you are somoene who takes frequent calls in the car (my friend did just that and I got to see the wonderful cellphone integration the car has).I see your point. This is actually a great thread!
I was in this dilemma last year; with specific cars in-mind: ie; 911, R8, GT-R, 430, Gallardo
From this list the GT-R was very quickly ruled-out because of the No Manual factor -
The GT-R is very Quick but..... AUTO - No thanks!
Gallardo and 430 -
Fantastic sound, great Gated Shifter but....... at the end of the day - (for me), it is not the cost of "buying"
but the actual cost of Ownership.
New 911 - This one I REALLY, REALLY considered. I have always liked the 911.
it's still no NSX however;
it's almost ..... too melancholy;
IDK.....I was disappointed in the new 911
I've driven many 911's and IMHO - the Early - Mid 90's were the best "drivers-cars", best "feel" ect ect.
This new 911 is quick but...... IDK.........Boring to me.
R8 - (V8) - Great Car! Fun; almost NSX "Feel"
IMO the NSX still looks much more exotic. I may someday pull the trigger on an R8
I have stated on Prime a few times my "Love-Affair" with the NSX
it's Reliability is 2nd to none.
When I was car shopping last year, the owner of PPA was selling his '05, (Perfect), 2,881 mile RYP NSX.
I have Always wanted the Last year so I bought the NSX.
For those that have stated - "why would you own two"
Well...... I guess for me it's pretty simple - I think this is the best car ever made.
I have been blessed with the opportunity to drive many great exotics but at the end of the day, I Always go back
to the NSX - it's the perfect sports car.
Honestly - I have TRIED to get myself to own something different. I think the R8 is pretty Darn close.
Someday............... Maybe.
My .02
Neither!
One NSX and my Porsche 911 (993 C4S).
Done.
R8 in a heartbeat, I've had and currently enjoyed the NSX, time to enjoy something more modern and from what I'm hearing their also very reliable.
